Ginger — Restaurant in Medford Township

If I could give the service zero stars to this place, I would! Went for dinner with a group of friends last week. Food was very average. Woman who answered the phone for my reservation and also sat us was not especially friendly but the worst part of the night was after we paid our bill when the waiter had the nerve to approach us very agressively, to complain about the tip we left. At first we thought he was just confused as we paid with both cash and credit card (4 people paying differently for their portion) but he was actually poiting out how much the bill was and the amount of tip we left. I actually could not beleive it once we realized what he was saying! To make matters worse, the same woman that sat us, who I assume is the owner, came over and joined in waving around the cash that was his tip. I should note that we left 18% of the bill after tax but that really shouldn't matter. I also know that 20% is customary when the service is good but this service was adequate at best (no one refilled our drinks or checked on us after the food was brought out).

I was so insulted that I wanted to leave and take the whole tip back with a few parting words for them but didn't want to make anyone else uncomfortable. My friends were basically shamed into adding another dollar each. I know that another dollar is nothing but that is not the point. Needless to say that none of us will ever be going back and I will encourage everyone I know to avoid this...

Update: 7/9/24 Today bae & I ate here. This time we actually dined in. We normally order takeout, as we did 3 times prior, but today we got good news, so decided to celebrate and dine it there. We were greeted and seated. Immediately Jimmy came by and was so full of joy. He took our order and our food was out in less than 15 minutes. We ordered so much food because the last 3 x we ordered everything was always 100/10. So we decided to pick a few things off of the google review pictures we saw people leave and not were we wowed 😻! Everything we chose was so delicious and tasty. It was well cooked, seasoned and made beyond our expectations! Jimmy was so kind and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. And the people were so nice. There was an elderly lady who was so sweet. My gawd this place is a gem. There was also another sweet lady in the back when I went to use the restroom who was so kind and nice. I highly recommend this place to eat if you’re looking for flavorful food. 100/10 ⭐️

I went to a restaurant that was located in a peaceful area. All the seating was inside, and the inside of the restaurant looked nice. The restroom was clean, too. The restaurant had three separate rooms for parties and two types of food - Chinese and Japanese. They had a lot of options for soups, appetizers, and main courses, and the portions were huge! The service was wonderful, and the staff were always ready to help with anything I needed (rated 5 out of 5). Plenty of vegetarian options are available at this restaurant, which is great for those who don't eat meat. However, I was disappointed by my dining experience. The dishes I ordered, including rice, eggplant, and vegetables, were excessively oily, resulting in severe heartburn after consumption. This is likely due to high-fat oils like canola, corn, soybean, vegetable, or margarine. Additionally, my wife's Pekin duck was disappointingly dry.
