Oh goodness, where to start....this place has good stars from what it used to be and definitely not what it has become. The atmosphere is like a rave, you can't hear anything in this warehouse setup, it's cold and awkward. The brunette with the glasses at the front kept repeating the same sentence over and over to us which was it will be 30 minutes for a seat, do yiu want a seat? I was on a lunch break, just wanted two breakfast biscuits to go so she walks off to come back not once more but 3 more times to say the exact same thing. Started to feel like an episode from the twilight zone. (It's not busy BTW, I managed Kaleidoscope and that place gets actually busy). She finally let's us go order and we pay 24.50 for our two biscuits and I pay cash and tip 3 bucks, we're told 15 minutes. 32 minutes later while sitting right next to the same host we, she asks us that same question 2 times more and another woman walks up stating they are just starting our food and that I need to pick a different item because they're out of an ingredient so I do and it was a dollar less than my previous pick. That's fine in all honesty that they didn't offer the monetary difference in price back in all honesty but as 16 more minutes pass. I'm late to work, I give my job a quick call to apologize and let them know I'm on my way and go to the front again to ask for my cash refund, and they can keep the tip. The inept cashier walks back and 4 people come out, stand in view and huddle talking amongst themselves and nobody comes over again except for...you guessed it, the host with the memory situation to repeat her one sentence to us again....as if she hadn't seen us sitting there the last hour or spoken to us the last 5 times. It was odd. So we just left without any food, without an apology and without our refund. With so many awesome places around I would just skip the weirdness of this one. They just are not ready to open and maybe they should've stayed closed. That's not how community members treat each other. However. Why take the chance on losing the one thing you can't get back which is time and giving your money to people who don't value it or who think it's ok to keep your money without a product or service in exchange. Thieves just don't go far in the valley, we treat each other a little better...
Read moreI’ve heard nothing but raving comments about Buttercloud and also see the good reviews online. We had high expectations and were extremely disappointed. It was busy so understandable we had to wait for a table. They didn’t ask if we wanted inside or outside. They just sat us outside which we didn’t want because it was cold and had a small kiddo with us. We dealt with it because we didn’t want to wait longer. Food took an extremely long time and arrived cold. It took about 20 mins just to get the tea I ordered when we first sat down. The Benedict (which the server said is the best on the menu). Was hands down the worst Benedict I have had in my entire life. This is no exaggeration. I had to pull out the bacon because it was very undercooked, rubbery, slimy and just plain disgusting. The hollandaise sauce had zero flavor, it was chunky and gritty. The biscuits were blah. We were all absolutely starving and waited so long I decided to just pick through it instead of sending it back. Which I would have had to get up and hunt down the server for because he never once came to ask us about our food. Not once. When we got the check I told the waiter about the bacon and showed him the undercooked, rubbery pieces on the plate. He did not look surprised whatsoever and was very nonchalant about it. He said sorry. We can comp you something from the bakery. I said okay, thank you. The price was almost $70 after tip (which I was definitely contemplating on but felt bad so we tipped regardless). Portions on all my family’s plates were very small, like child portions. We all were terribly disappointed and will never come back here or...
Read moreButtercloud Brunch in Medford, horrible and expensive experience! It was supposed to be a celebration for a special occasion for my daughter.
My husband's biscuit for his sandwich was undercooked/raw inside, they brought out my daughter's benedict without the 2 poached eggs it comes with, the eggs were overcooked when they finally did bring them out as were the eggs on my benedict, everythinggggg lacked seasoning, the "veggie" hash was 90 percent potatoes, they brought us out the wrong Mac and cheese at first, never even once asked to refill our water, never asked how our food was or if we needed anything. They did comp his sandwich with the raw biscuit after we asked them to because he couldn't eat it but that was the limit to their customer "service."
I can handle mistakes, no restaurant is perfect and every place has their off days, the make it or break it for me is the customer service. "Your brunch experience matters to us. You have many choices where you spend your money and you chose us, we want to honor and respect that. Today's an off day and you received the brunt of that, how can we have you leave here on a positive? Where are the areas we could have improved on today that would lead you to come back again? How can we make this right?"
Accountability, humility, kindness. I'd come back time and time again, even if the food isn't the best because of good customer service but I didn't experience that level of food or...
