BricktownE Brewing Company — Restaurant in Medford

My husband and I enjoy BricktownE’s beer and food, but we will not be returning due to the service. On previous visits the waitstaff would not bring out dishes we had ordered, but would still include the missing items on our bill (they were only removed after we pointed out the error). The service was on the slow side, and waitstaff have gotten our drink or food orders wrong every time we have visited. But we shrugged it off because they seemed busy and we liked the beer.

This past weekend we came for a late lunch. A waitress told us to seat ourselves and we waited for her to to come take our drink order. After 20-25 minutes no one had come to our table. I was starting to tell my husband that we should eat somewhere else when the waitress came over to ask about our drinks. We decided to stay and ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer, with a couple of sandwiches as an entree.

We waited for about an hour, but our food (including our chips and salsa) never showed up. While we were waiting, we caught our server’s eye multiple times in an effort to get her to come to our table, but she never did. Other tables came in 30+ minutes after we did and received their food, but no one ever came to check on our drinks or to tell us why our food had not come out.

After an hour of no one coming to our table, we decided that it just wasn’t going to happen. We went up to the bar and asked to pay for our drinks and leave. Our waitress said that she had seen us waiting, but didn’t know where our food was or why it hadn't come out. We’re sorry not to come anymore because we do enjoy the food and the beer, but my husband and I just don't think that it's worth the long wait times and lack of attention...

Where to begin- we used to love this place, with good food, drinks, service and atmosphere- but tonight showed just how far it has fallen. The single worst food experience of my life. By no fault of the single server and single Chef on staff tonight, as anyone knows who understands restaurants knows, it all trickles up to owners. We waited an hour and a half to recieve our two appetizers and five entrees for our party of four adults and one very hungry toddler. There was something wrong with every single item- child's burger was undercooked, queso dip was bland and without salsa as described, pulled pork nachos was half the portion it used to be, burnt, and with barely 2 bites of pork (for 14 dollars?), salad had no croutons (out of ingredient) Mac and cheese was missing artichoke as ordered, antipasta was subbed with chicken as salami and pepperoni where both missing (out of ingredient) and I waited over 30 minutes for my second pint, at which point I really didn't want it anymore, until I recieved 2 at once as an overdue apology from the server, which I had to chug before leaving instead of enjoying with my food. The televisions in the bar area even displayed an appropriate "out of service" message, in addition to the lack of music that used to play, forcing us to wait in silence. We hadn't been here for over a year since it changed hands/owners, but we can confidently say we will not be giving it another chance, as it's clear the owners don't care to stock the kitchen, staff appropriately for even a Sunday evening, or clean the floors for that matter. The beers are great! The food was also great! so was the service! we went on a monday night and it was slower for them than their weekend usual. But the bartender was pleasant and helpful! he let us try all their beers and each one was excellent, including the working gal brown ale, and that's saying a lot because I usually prefer lighter pales, lagers and blondes. I had the college turkey club and tots, and my roommate had the meatball sub and spicy sausage beer cheese soup: both were great! I got a little over halfway through my pint and was very pleasantly buzzed, and my roommate had to finish his pint as well as mine. We both had the Applegate Pale Ale and the beer quality was great; not weak, good proper alcohol content, and full body complex flavor. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a jewel in the rough! it may not look like much from the outside, but trust me, step in inside and let the beer, food, and service speak for itself, you won't be...
