It is not often I write any review of a facility or performance. I must say I am very disappointed of the Craterian Theatre facility. Although lots of work as been done on the building from it's movie 'hay' day quite a few important spots were missed. Your sound system, it is really bad. This day and age the two speakers hanging in the corner of the stage really isn't the most ideal for quality and coverage. Some of the most beautiful music in world goes with the performance of Swan Lake but it sounded awful. Site lines, when I was kid going to the movies, at the Craterian, those things didn't seem to matter, now it does. Our seats were in the balcony and I spent the whole performance have 1/4 of the stage blocked by someone head. When that room was rebuilt the balcony should have been re-stepped for better site lines. The back to back seat spacing would have improved greatly too. You may have lost a few seats but gained a more satisfied customer base. Your music source for the performance actually stopped and skipped during the performance. Your source sounded like it was a LP record. Not much can be done regarding this, but the stage is much too small for these live performances. My suggestion would be to hire an acoustical analysis of the room, Meyer Sound, Berkeley, CA, and make their suggested changes and install their system. You won't believe the overall sound improvement. Rebuild the...
Read moreThis Theatre! It is right in the heart of downtown Medford with parking lots and street parking available within walking distance. The aisles are wide so you can actually stay seated as people get settled or pass to leave. There's not a bad seat in the house to see the majority of the stage. My husband likes the aisle seat because he's tall. I think he missed seeing one drummer on far stage right, however we could see the one on far stage left. We saw Stomp and it exceeded our expectations! Medford was the end of their 21- 22 tour and they gave it their all! Their interaction with the audience at the very end made it super fun. Everyone walked out with a smile. The Craterian has an incredible lineup for the remainder of the year and it's time to get tickets to Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and... Look it up and book a show. You'll enjoy the theater. If you find this review helpful, please let others know by hitting the like button...
Read moreThis was my first time going to this theater. We saw Seals and Croft 2 The parking around the theater is not bad, you can find limited free parking, however you might have to drive around once or twice or use the paid parking lots, Inside the Craterian theater is very beautiful classy and very clean. You have the options for purchase of wine or beer in their special cup, which you can bring back apparently and reuse, nice big bathrooms handicapped friendly, though we did have second row, I do not believe there is any bad seat in the attire 2 story theater. After the crowd had left, we stayed for a meet and greet. Both the singers were really lovely people. It was an awesome night inside a wonderful theater. Looking forward to the next entertainment. At the...
