Astral Games Medford — Local services in Medford

EDIT: I was in town again today and decided to visit again. After I got settled in, Aaron let me know that he saw my review and addressed my concerns. He informed me that they had returned to MSRP on all their products, and after the event concluded, the participants received a much better prize payout than last time I had visited. I'm happy to report that my review is now outdated, and I'm able to full-heartedly recommend Astral Games. It's clear they care about their customers and value their feedback. I've been attending since I was a child, and I'm excited to come back next time I'm in town!

Original review: Despite a clean and welcoming atmosphere, it's difficult to recommend. Prices on many, many products are well above MSRP and the tournament entry fees well eclipse the prize payout at the events I've been to. It's unfortunate, then, that there aren't any other good card game venues nearby. If possible, I'd advise against giving them their business until they start providing comparable value to any other card shop I've...

I am from out of town and stopped in to check out what Medford had to offer. This was a Great shop to drop in on, filled with Comics, Graphic Novels, Trade Paperbacks, and Games. There is a dedicated space for tabletop gaming along with a wide selection of games for purchase. The selection of back issues comics was quite significant, though seemed predominantly from the modern era. Most comic book back stock is raw books, with a handful of graded books. Those that were graded were above market price, but the market moves quickly these days and the staff was happy to check recent sales and work with me on pricing. My adult child was with me looking for some recent books for themselves, while only able to find one issue, the employee was quick to offer solutions including checking to see if they could order additional copies, or when the trade paper back was coming out and offering to order for them. The staff was friendly and helpful, the store clean and inviting, I will definitely stop in again next time...

I live right up the street from this store and have been here many times... Only to regret it each time. Products are CONSISTENLY overpriced and the service is very inconsistent. You MAY be helped with a smile or you might just have to wave your arms for attention. As much as I would like to do so, I simply cannot recommend anybody go to this store, especially when there is a MUCH better and cheaper option 3 blocks North on the same street (Retro Wormhole)

It's a nice storefront with a standard selection, however, if you read the other negative reviews, you'll notice a common theme of "overpriced products" with the occasional "bad service" sprinkled throughout... and that's EXACTLY it. I'd honestly rather drive to another town, which is sad considering the close proximity of this shop to my house.
