Okay, so I’m going to leave my honest review as a cook and food critic.

The look of the food is great. The flavor is on the opposite end to that and let me explain why.

I tried the Special, the PoBoy Shrimp Sandwich. The bread is not toasted, the aioli mixture they made for the spread on bread, is not spread throughout the bread, so you only get a few bites of that. The creole sauce they make for the topping, we barely had any of it on the sandwich so I asked for extra and they told me no, they didn’t have enough. Which to me as a restaurant cook—completely unacceptable—you always plan ahead, EVEN for Specials. I personally never really tell a customer no. So all in all the sandwich I would rate with all the inconsistency, and less then, a 4 out of 10. 😭🥺 For the sides, the hush puppies had no flavor, what it did have for it, the corneal wasn’t dry. For the Mac n Cheese, the sauce was broken, there wasn’t flavor within it other then flour, so that wasn’t cooked out long enough and the green onion, (which I LOVE green onion), overpowered everything ten fold. So to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I had high hopes! Sad. Our total was $33.50.

Absolutely amazing! I got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of hush puppies. The chicken breast was massive and so juicy and crispy! It had a unique twist to it which I wasn't expecting and was very pleasantly surprised. The hush puppies were wonderful! I'm kind of a sissy though, so I requested a side of ranch to go with them which was perfect. My daughter got mac and cheese and it was over the top delicious! Just be aware it, if you have kids, they come with scallions on top (great for me, not so much for my picky eater lol) but it was not too much, so she could pick them off. The ambiance is great, they've done a beautiful job updating the space. It feels very open and inviting. The owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to offer a dipping side for the Hush Puppies, an aiolo of sorts, perhaps? But like I said, I was able to ask for a side of ranch with absolutely no push back or awkwardness. 10/10 I can't wait...

We wanted to try this restaurant because we thought hush puppies and collard greens are so good when we've had them in NC. We were all 3 disappointed in our meals. We all had chicken. I had a leg and it was ok. Another friend had the strips and they were very dry. We had Mac and cheese and it was not very good either. Was very dry instead of creamy. The hush puppies were very dry and just tasted like dried out cornbread. The collards didn't taste anything like I've ever had. They were just blah...I ate the piece of chicken. My daughter ate her chicken thigh and our friend ate a small portion of her dinner. We were all disappointed and would not recommend. Felt like it was a waste of money. They need to get different recipes for the collard greens and hush puppies. We weren't asked if we liked our food or we would have told someone in person. I would not recommend this restaurant unless improvements...
