Alright, guys. I like the sandwiches here. They’re terribly overpriced but good. I was excited about the pro-military billing so went to check it out. I’m a military retiree and asked about a military discount, which I thought they might have given all of their Devore and marketing (I.e. their name) is military based. They didn’t have one, which is perfectly fine, I don’t expect discounts all the time. I just asked because of their billing.
However, something about this wreaks of using the military to profit and pull people in. You’re not supporting the military by eating at this place, folks. That’s clearly the impression they try to give, and it feels to me more like they’re using the military. Like when a car salesman tells you he’s a Christian to make a common bond and sell a car. It makes me very uncomfortable. That coupled with the fact that they have 2-3 restaurants on DoorDash or Grubhub all run out of the same kitchen (just different menu options) and they started this during COVID when all restaurants were hurting makes me think these guys aren’t above board. This is probably allowed, but certainly doesn’t seem ethical. (Also, I’m not referring to their BeastBurger kitchen. They also have several other listed restaurants currently up. I feel like this is taking money from other restaurants. It’s not against the law, but it certainly seems unethical.)
In short, good but overpriced sandwiches and some shady business practices taking advantage of both the Military and...
Read moreWONDERFUL FOOD & CREW!! I called in during high the volume lunch time to place an order to go. I asked for the chicken teriyaki bowl, very light sauce, lots of veggies, with brown rice. Assuming everything was pre-made in sauce, I expected her to say we can not make that to order, but the lovely gal working said "No problem!".. I called about 10min prior to when I needed to pick it up, and asked if that was enough time, She says, "Of course!". . I arrived right on time and my food was hot and ready to go! The service was very welcoming and efficient, and all the employees working were very warm and cheery from when i stepped foot in the door.
My Food was amazing!! (chicken was just barely a little dry, but still very very good!!) Tons of flavorful Veggies, Full portion of Chicken, and a healthy amount of the soft brown rice. The perfect amount of the ginger teriyaki sauce was tossed with the veggies. The meal Tasted very authentic, with wonderful flavors that complimented each other perfectly.
I highly recommend this deli, especially for those, in a hurry lunch-timers. I can't wait to come back in and try one of the subs! Thank you for your service, and thank you for your...
Read moreFirst, and last, time we'll eat at a Heroes American Cafe. The French fries are excellent but nothing else was. The pastrami & Swiss sandwich was so crammed with extra junk that the pastrami could not be tasted. The Reuben was similar although marginally better. The onion rings were strictly run-of-the-mill. The gimmick of the chain is supposedly recognizing American "heroes", primarily military but also fire, police, and seniors, all of whom are supposed to receive a 5% discount. When my receipt showed no discount, I asked the young nose-ringed woman who had rung up the order and received this response, "Well, I didn't see a card", apparently meaning that Vietnam war vets are supposed to carry some sort of military ID 50 years after they've been discharged. OK, I get it, there are many who would lie about their military service to get what they want. But, "50 years later" means that my wife and I would certain be "senior citizens", which we look, and which could be easily be verified by checking a driver's license. No apology nor discount was forthcoming. Sept. 27, 2022, 4:37 PM, if anybody cares. The cashier...
