A Symphony of Southern Hospitality and Steakhouse Perfection at Ruth's Chris Memphis To recommend a dining experience to a visiting colleague from across the globe is to offer more than just a meal; it's to extend a hand of cultural exchange, a taste of place, and a moment of genuine connection. My suggestion of Ruth's Chris Steak House in Memphis was made with a quiet confidence, a belief in their consistent excellence. And tonight, that belief was not only validated but elevated to a profound appreciation. From the moment my colleague stepped through the doors, the ambiance whispered of refined comfort. The warm lighting, the gentle murmur of conversation, the promise of culinary artistry hanging in the air – it was an immediate embrace. But it was the human element that truly transformed the evening from a simple dinner to a memorable occasion. Our server, DeAnna, was nothing short of exceptional. Her presence was a masterclass in Southern hospitality – warm, genuine, and effortlessly professional. When my colleague, venturing into the realm of American steakhouse tradition, ordered the Tomahawk medium, it was an act of trust. And DeAnna delivered on that trust with an almost artistic precision. The steak arrived, a magnificent cut presented with a quiet flourish, cooked to absolute perfection. Each slice revealed a tender, ruby interior, yielding with the slightest pressure, the rich, buttery flavor a testament to the quality of the meat and the skill in its preparation. It wasn't just a steak; it was an experience, a moment of pure culinary satisfaction. But DeAnna's expertise extended beyond the prime cuts. Her recommendation of the stuffed chicken proved to be a revelation. My colleague, accustomed to the diverse and nuanced flavors of Chinese cuisine, declared it the "best chicken they had ever had." This was not mere politeness; it was a genuine expression of delight, a testament to the harmonious blend of textures and flavors that DeAnna had so confidently suggested. The evening began with an equally impressive prelude at the bar, where Jeff and Lela crafted drinks that were not just beverages but expertly mixed concoctions. Their skill and welcoming demeanor set the perfect tone for the night, a prelude of the exceptional service to come. In DeAnna, Ruth's Chris possesses not just a server, but an ambassador. She represented the restaurant with impeccable grace, but more than that, she embodied the spirit of Memphis and the warmth of the South. Her genuine kindness and top-tier service painted a vivid and positive picture for my colleague, forging a connection that transcended language and culture. Ruth's Chris Steak House in Memphis is more than just a place to eat; it is a sanctuary of exceptional food and unparalleled hospitality. From the perfectly cooked Tomahawk to the surprisingly exquisite stuffed chicken, every element of the dining experience was executed with precision and care. But it was the human touch, the genuine warmth of DeAnna, Jeff, and Lela, that truly elevated this visit to a profound and memorable one. My recommendation did not fail; it flourished. Ruth's Chris Memphis, unequivocally, deserves a 10 out of 10. It is a beacon of culinary excellence and...
Read more10/16/23: Celebrated birthday at Ruth's Chris. FABULOUS! Our waitress Heather was WONDERFUL. The food was scrumptious well worth the splurge. The sweet potato casserole was Delicious! I am mentioning it specifically because it is the only dish that I had not had before this visit. It didn't taste like it was unthawed and served. It tasted homemade by a, 'real cook!' My family member and I throughly enjoyed ourselves. Ruth's Chris is most definitely worth it. I love the food and atmosphere and can hardly wait until I visit again.
Today I visited Ruth Chris for the first time for a work group gathering during Happy Hour. I have known of the restaurant for a while and always wanted and planned to visit. The restaurant has a very cozy romantic ambience that I love, though the lights could be turned up just a bit, I had to use the flashlight on my cellphone to read the menu. The bar area can stand to be a bit larger, but that will not hinder my returning because I am not a drinker we only sat there because of going during Happy Hour. Our group couldn't be seated at a table together, the only table there only seats five, so instead of sitting in groups of four in the booths, which is how we started, we all sat at the bar and socialized and enjoyed one another's company. Jada, who is very efficient and attentive, was my first server, but Rachel took my order. There was another sever, whose name I do not recall was efficient and attentive as well. The appetizer I wanted is normally prepared fried, but I wanted it grilled, which Rachel didn't know if that adjustment could be made, she said she would ask, went back into the kitchen and out comes Marcus who asked me about what I wanted, said the appetizer could be adjusted, did it and came back out to ask if the dish was to my liking and it was. I will definitely be returning, not on the bar side, but in the main seating area. If I could give ten stars I would. Ruth Chris you just acquired a...
Read moreWent to celebrate a birthday with a small group. We had reservations but didn’t mention anything about our celebration. Our party of 5 arrived half hour early on a busy Saturday evening during Christmas and we were seated immediately, no questions. Several staff greeted us as we were getting situated at our table, and when I inquired about the restroom I was escorted like royalty. We ordered family style and shared BBQ shrimp, calamari, T-bone for 2, lamb chops, lobster mac, brussels, cheesy potatoes, cheesecake, and a seasonal caramel apple bake a la mode. A lot of big back activity was going on at that table! I probably don’t need to tell you that there was LOTS of delicious left overs that was beautifully packed up for us. We even had a couple of their signature drinks that were amazing. But the most special part of the night is when Nicole, who we had the pleasure of being taken care of for the evening, walked up and poured a little bit of confetti on the table and told my son ‘Happy Birthday!’ with a beautifully personalized bread pudding for him, she caught his date of birth when she carded him for his drink before dinner!! What a wonderful experience we had, even with a couple of picky eaters. My husband and I have experienced quite a few Ruth’s Chris locations all over the country for the past 30 years, and I was worried about this location, but I had the choice of Nashville and this location this time around and I don’t regret choosing the Memphis location one bit. THANK YOU NICOLE, for a...
