I booked my room 1 and a half weeks before time save money. I was really excited. The hopes of being on the 2nd or 3rd floor excited me. Well before i arrived at the hotel i called in advance to see what all i needed before arriving. I was told a picture i.d. and credit card. The credit card was for incedentials. I didnt have any money on my credit card so i asked if i coud pay with cash i was told yes by the gentleman who was assiting me. So upon arrival i had 50 dollars in cash for the deposit only to find out they wanted a credit card... Talking about an awkard postion. My boyfriend was with me who only uses cash as well when traveling had to use a very old card that he only uses for bills. He didnt have enough on the card because it was rarly used. We ended up having to wait 10 minutes or more just to have the girl to come out the managers office say she had to try a lower amount. At this point i was very irritated. So she swipted card for a lower amount and it took. I had already paid for my room and i knew i didnt want room service and i knew i wasn't going to break anything why did i have to pay for incidentials? My trip was ruined from that point. I tried to forget it but couldnt. It was a lack of communication between workers. If had known that i woild have loaded my card prior to my checking-in.
The room looked great. The location was horrible. I was in a room right by the check-in counter and right next door to the mangers room and public bathroom. I didnt like the location. I felt cheated. I alsofelt liike i was in basement area. Rooms shouldn't be that close to a checkin counter or one of 3 other rooms in that area. The bed made a popping noise every time we sat at the foot of the bed. I jumped every time i sat down. It was very clean but tiny, tiny, tiny... Like a basement room... There wasn't even a microwave in the room. The pool was right by my room. So if was summer i would have had to ask for another room. The water in the bathroom was hard to adjust while showering. It was either too cold or too hot. Then the thing where smokers put their ciggartte butts to started to smoke heavily and the smoke came in my room. We i have allegeys and that was not good for me. But after telling the staff that the thing was smoking they fixed the problem and while i was gone (because i had to leave the smoke) the hotel staff some how aired our roim and it was fresh again.
The breakfast price was just toooo much. I didnt even try it.
The clean up ladys were really nice and descret. Nice going ladys.
I cant really say i really enjoyed my stay, but it was alright. You get what you pay for.
The fitness...
Read moreLet begin by saying that normally I don't have time to write reviews but this time. I am compelled to write one because of the nature of the disrespect and couple with unprofessionalism that I experienced at: Four Points by Sheraton Memphis East, 5877 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119. || On 04/12/2022 I just came back to town and stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Memphis East, accompanied by my sister who just flew from Paris, France and we decided to have a morning breakfast at the hotel breakfast area which was part of our hotel payment. Make a long story short. A great morning, I was feeling excited and suddenly this unprofessional and a "flotsam and a Jetsam" decided to treat me like a criminal who essentially was there to eat breakfast without paying for it. ||Ironically, it was the same loud yell a day before with an older lady, an African American woman who was checking the receipts but could make a phone call to the front desk even after she was told the room came with our breakfast. The phone was right there and of course our names were on the list. So, this time, I thought ok, people make mistakes. Don't make a big deal out of it. The next day, not even 24/hours later. I was subjected this time to another African American purported Kitchen supervisor (A lady) with. She introduced herself as a manager in-charge of Food and Beverages. I tell you, she was very unprofessional and refused to admit and apologize for being unprofessional and rude to me with no apparent reason. On top of that, I was treated like I was about to eat breakfast without paying for it. She ordered me to go to the front desk in lieu or check my name or at minimum to call the front desk and verify but treated me with with such a disrespect and unprofessional.||I was so upset that I demanded to see the GM and one lady by the name: A white woman, spoke to me and another black lady gave me a card with a lady that doesn't seems to jive with the lady. The name on the card reads: Scott Burchett (Director of Sales, at 901-767-6300." I see if I was at a low grade hotel but this is an hotel operating operating under the banner of Marriott hotel at minimum.|| It is felt that this hotel in issue need to have their Marriott flag etamin. I am almost positive that some other guest out there probably have the same experience or worst. I need this mess investigate and management need to clean house in my...
Read moreMy husband is from Memphis and we are looking for a hotel to be our regular spot for when we visit family. This isn’t it. We almost changed hotels after the first and second nights, but we stayed for the full four, which I regret. ||Location is perfect for us, right where we need to be. River Oaks is a favorite restaurant of ours. But that’s about it. ||- one of the elevators smells horrible, like someone was sick and they didn’t clean it well. Either that or it gets wet from people going to the pool and it’s moldy. ||- access is right on the highway and not for the faint of heart. ||- closet space is an armoire with no shelves or drawers. The hanging space is too short for long dresses. No where to put folded clothes or underwear. I had to empty out the shelf where the coffee stuff is and used the tray for some of my clothes. We also had to put piles of folded clothes out on the bench in the open. Ironically, there were nice other storage options like a mirror cubby, coat rack, and space in the bathroom. ||- the light bulbs are the harsh “bright white”. Except for the floor lamp, the lights were like harsh fluorescents, making the room feel like a hospital room, even the bedside lamps. We actually bought bulbs to replace these, which made a huge difference (see pictures of before, halfway, and after).||- air conditioner is very loud, but at least it drowns out the sound of the fridge and the highway. I sleep with ear plugs, so it didn’t bother me much. But my husband, who can usually sleep through anything, didn’t have a decent night’s rest, the whole time we were there. ||- bathroom is tiny. Only one person can fit and even then you have to maneuver around the door. ||- shower head has no pressure at all. Worst hotel shower experience I’ve ever had. And the shampoo and conditioner dispensers were completely empty on the first day. ||- toilet tank wasn’t filling and I had to open it up and hold the nasty moldy flapper down with my hand. Someone came to fix it but it was still leaking an hour later. ||- no bathroom vent ||- blackout curtains are white and ineffective. ||- Lobby is okay, staff is friendly. TV is on very loud, which makes it unpleasant to hang out. The first night, the night clerk was walking around watching something on his phone, full volume, and all we could hear was a woman sobbing for the longest time, and a lot of screaming...
