Went because I thought I read the IG post for National Tequila Day. Wrong post it was for taco Tuesday. No problem. The bartender ran the specials for that day and they were sugary so we opted for the Tequila. Every where i go the house Tequila is what is on happy hour for the most part. I asked what the house Tequila was. She told me and said it was a pretty good brand. I ordered 2. When I say they were like a dropper full each I am not lying!! I told my husband we can leave after that but he decided to order 2 more for us to at least make it a full shot. Same thing again, a dropper full each. I'm thinking the house Tequila is maybe 7 bucks tops. Asked for the ticket and it was $49.09. This included a credit card charge - I used debit not a credit card - and a $7.49 tip. If I paid with cash it would be $47.49 I questioned it and told her she said the Tequila was not on the happy hour special. She said some other drinks were but not the Tequila. Both me and my husband heard her say Tequila was on happy hour. I was not about to argue. I told her I would have gotten the Tequila brand I drink had she told me the house Tequila would be $10.40 a piece. When she said the fees and tip were put on there by management I was done. I now see other reviews state the fees are on the menu. Well I never scanned the menu because we did not come for food. The ticket has $7.49 gratuity which is 18% according to Serv's scale. However, the math ain't matching at all. How do you have that same tip amount suggested at the bottom of the ticket for a total of $56.58? Yall trying to trick people into tipping twice or what? All I know is my card better not be charged for more than $49.09 because that $7.49 tip was already included in my total along with that "credit card" fee. $10.40 for bottom shelf house Tequila is ridiculous and to skip past 15% gratuity and automatically add 18% gratuity is greedy. Yall were not busy, it was only 2 of us, and we sat at the bar. I try to support Black businesses but stuff like this makes it hard to. Print some food and drink menus and plaster your fees on it so patrons are aware because had I known from the jump I definitely would have left. We will not be returning nor suggesting this establishment to anyone. Do...
Read moreUpon arriving, security assisted with parking ( 👏), when I entered the building the hostess immediately greeted me & asked how many was in my party ( 👏). Great job, thus far. There was a short wait. Upon sitting at the bar, there was a slight delay in being greeted. Drinks 🍸 were ordered, no napkin given. We basically had to ask for some. We had to reach to get our drinks, as she placed them closest to the serving side. Once our order was placed around 7:45, almost an hour passed before we had to ask about our order. The bartender did not once update on estimated time to receive the order. As my friend tried to get our bartender's attention, she wouldn't respond until she said excuse me for a second time & the bartender immediately answered what my friend asked her initially (so why not acknowledge a person when spoken to initially). At that point, I was just irritated & said that I would probably not come back. The food was on point & the chefs were calm, working cohesively, and as a team. I can say that the young lady was busy making drinks & productive. Her follow-up game was not on point. The bartender (with dreads) could've had a better disposition! When people visit restaurants and bars we look for customer service to be on point & to have enjoyment. My first visit could have...
Read moreThe decor is trendy and modern with a fun, vibrant vibe—great selfie spots included. It’s a Black-owned business, and I came to show support. The menu is limited on lunch combos; only the fish and chips came with a side, while other items require an extra fee for sides. Drinks like lemonade and specialty options aren’t refillable, though water is. Prices vary between cash and credit due to upcharges, so be prepared. Possibly a small staff, which might explain the use of mostly disposable items—likely to minimize dishwashing. Overall, it’s a place with potential, but transparency on pricing and portions would improve the experience.
For a family of four it was around $89 which is pricey for lunch that only one ordered item came with a side of fries included in meal.
Overall it’s a vibe and would suggest just getting one item to share between two people.
18% gratuity automatically added to total bill best to come with Cash to this place to avoid additional fees and charges.
Suggestion: for the prices they should include a side. Secondly, drinks such as lemonade should...
