Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Memphis

Horrible Service, my partner and I drove up to the window to pickup an order. We were met by a middle aged lady with this patch on her face to whom was extremely rude with a condescending tone, she asked if we had seen that speaker behind us, and rudely stated that “we needed to go back around and use it.” We were just picking up, and weren’t given instructions so we honestly didn’t know, plus it was our first time. We went back around and used the speaker, and proceeded to drive back around, when we got back around… she again rudely said “so y’all just not gonna use the speaker” after we had already did. Another employee came out with our order, thank you to that young lady. Customer service should be a top priority, and unfortunately for my visit that ball was dropped. This was a pickup order that we had already paid for, if that wasn’t the case I would have not purchased anything. To start, really enjoy the Shipley Do-nut location near the Nashville Airport. It is the first stop after getting the rental to drive to Memphis. Was pleased to see they had one close by to Collierville. Decided to give them a try this morning, arriving 10mins after published opening. Nothing was ready, which is fine, understand things happen, but what struck me is the customer service that I received. Constructive Criticism for the lady working the head set, if it's not ready, let the customer know when you will be ready so they can plan when to return. 40 minute round trip to patronize your establishment. This happened at the Nashville store once , item I wanted wasn't available at opening was immediately told by the staff when to expect it would be ready. FWIW, just let the customer know this, it will go a long way.

I was really looking forward to having Shipley's donuts because its been many many years since I've had it. This place is HORRIBLE. The glazed donuts DO NOT TASTE ANYTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL RECIPE. I am a Houstonian and all the Shipley's in Texas TASTED THE SAME. The owner needs to follow the original recipes that Shipley's has made for over 40 years. The Kolaches are also disgusting. I was so disappointed, one bite of the glazed donut was like eating dry bread that sat out with mold on it. So disgusting. If you don't start making them the way they are supposed to be, you won't last long. 💯

Anyone who thinks this Shipley's in Cordova is great has not had the original...
