Tha Table — Restaurant in Memphis

Went on a Sunday because I saw it on Tiktok. Made a reservation but once in, they said they weren't taking reservations.

Front parking is limited and there's a lot of debris on the ground in the parking area in the back (possible damage to tires). Point: parking lot needs to be swept and maintained

Congested at the door when walking in. This is due to people being waited to be seated and people paying before leaving all in the same spot. Too much going on. Needs a better system.

There were plenty of seats on the patio and outdoor area (sections were closed off, indoor eating only) but because they were doing homestyle seating, everyone being served HAD to sit together.

What is homestyle seating?

It's a set meal on the menu for the day, like if you were at grandma's house and she told you what she cooked today.

You then sit with strangers, the waitress brings out the dishes and you pass them around the table as you get your fixings out and make your plate.

I did not like the idea of the only option to be served was to sit with strangers, forcing me to be social with strangers. I'm an introvert. Do NOT force me to be social so I can freaking eat.

I did not like the idea that post COVID that I'm passing bowls of food around amongst strangers.

Homestyle seating is fine with people I know and probably would've been fine PREcovid. This place isn't my cup of tea.

I will give them ONE more try but will not try Sundays again.

Long story short: WE LEFT when the waitress explained to us after taking us to a table of friendly strangers. Interior isn't photogenic at all and was crowded. They should allow people to sit on the patio and...

The environment is absolutely amazing. Super chill, not too crowded. Bar service was great and the drinks are A1. Food service was below subpar. The shrimp tacos STILL had freaking TAILS on em. The food was mediocre at best. And SLOW! I'm talking slow as cold molasses. Waited 15 minutes before we found our server (who had to be summoned). Ordered nothing but tacos, with nothing altered, and it took them 42 minutes to come out. Saw our server a grand total of 4 times in the 3 hours (live band was 🔥🔥🔥) that we were there. To order our food, to bring our food, to drop off the tab/pick up the payment, and to bring the change. It probably wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the automatic 18% gratuity on EVERY tab. So yeah, servers don't actually care... oh yeah, and they don't accept anything but cash or CashApp for payment which is odd, and mildly inconvenient, but i digress.... Will I come back here? Yes, but I will definitely eat before I arrive and will wait until a live band is going to be there. The bar and ambiance saved...

Pink lemonade taste awesome, food was good BUT we waited a hour for our food, our waiter put our ticket in late, which caused people that came AFTER us to get their food first. Drink is not included with the meal, they $5 for a regular drink & $5 for any and all refills which I think is ridiculous.. my daughter had a smaller cup than me but I was still charged $5 for her one cup of juice

they also charge a gratuity fee and our waiter didn’t even deserve a tip cause she messed our ticket up & put our order in late. They say you have to reserve a table on the patio with the fake grass yet there’s no number online to reserve a table. They also don’t have a menu, our waited held her phone out for us to look at the food options on a phone note pad ( pictured attached )

There was a string of hair in one of the kids drink so that was the only drink we didn’t have to pay for…
