Best coffee in Memphis. PERIOD. After doing extensive research on coffeeshops in the greater Memphis area, this place was bookmarked at the top of my list. And as you read my review, you will soon find out that they do things the right way. Located just off of I-240 and Poplar Ave., "The Hub Coffee" has been one of the coziest and structurally amazing places to grab a hot (or iced) cup of coffee, espresso drink, tea, or even a small bite to eat.
I came here during the morning of Saturday, September 25th around 9:00am. At first glance, you would never think there would be a coffee shop here as it is tucked in the same building as Highpoint Church. Remember, this is the south where churches are prevalent everywhere. The hours of operation are 7am to 7pm Monday through Saturday while their business is closed on Sunday to focus on Highpoint Church Sunday Services (that are held at 9am & 11am).
Parking is relatively easy to find and a bit of a walk to the front of the entrance. But once you step inside, you are greeted with one of the most spectacular and cozy interiors. The high ceilings, open layout, wood trim, progressive lighting, comfy seating areas, and beautiful artwork that reads "Love Works" adds to how impressively impeccable this place is. The square footage is utilized to the absolute full potential the open space concept is executed amazingly well here.
After taking a glance at the menu prior to coming here, I ended up ordering a hot cup of their "Spanish Latte" priced at around $5. This is a latte that is infused with sweetened condensed milk to give this a truly sweet and savory taste to it. I also ordered a warm butter croissant to complete my light breakfast. Once my latte is ready, it has the perfect latte "art" scripted into the warm, frothy foam. The taste was perfect, hot, and very delicious. The croissant itself was baked from the "Dough Rye Mi" bakery, also based in Memphis.
Overall, "The Hub Coffee" is one of the best and inviting coffee shops I've ever stepped foot it. It is a great place for studying (with the super-fast WiFi) or just conversing with your friends/colleagues. The employees all genuinely enjoyed being there while the entire business moves like a well-oiled machine. With the decent prices, delicious coffee, amazing ambiance, and above average level of customer service, I am giving "The Hub Coffee" a...
Read moreLooking for a coffee fix while rambling around Memphis on a visit to family. It was a little later in the afternoon and some cafes were already shutting down, but we found The Hub open and easy to access!
This coffee shop is located in a very large church. As such, there is a lot of parking! Like, a LOT of parking. Since it was a Saturday it wasn't crazy congested. I liked that they had spots reserved not just for handicapped folks, but also for families with small children, expectant mothers, first time visitors, etc. It made the vibe more welcoming.
The church seems to have a fairly large campus and The Hub itself is housed in its own large section of the building. There are a few signs/decorations that remind you it's part of a church, but it feels fairly secular, which I thought was nice. The vibe is welcoming and sort of youthful. There's a lot of seating, both traditional tables and cushy couches and they were BUSY when I walked in. Still, the wait to order and grab my drink was brief.
The two young lady baristas were nice and working diligently! I was happy to see they're still offering peppermint mochas even this late in the season. I love a peppermint mocha :)
They have small snacks and pastries and such but I was still full from lunch so I only ordered a drink. I stood and sipped on some of the complimentary iced water.
My iced peppermint mocha was really good! I could've actually done for a teeeny bit more coffee flavor for once, but the drink itself was smooth, nice amount of ice, and perfectly mint-chocolatey flavor. Thin Mint vibes!
Definitely would recommend giving them a try if you're...
Read moreAs a coffee lover who enjoys discovering new spots, we decided to check out The Hub after seeing so many great reviews. We were just visiting the area and thought itâd be fun to try something different.
Finding the place was a bit tricky at firstâitâs located inside a church, and the main entrance we tried was closed. We had to walk around a bit to find another entrance, which wasnât very obvious. Then we got to a door that was locked and had to loop around once more to finally get inside. So, just a heads-up that the entrance situation can be a little confusing.
That said, once we walked in, the vibe completely made up for it. It had this cozy work-from-home but not at home energy. Tons of people were working on laptops, the space felt welcoming and productive, and there were plenty of seating options. Itâs a great spot if youâre looking to get work done or just want a chill place to hang out. The staff were super friendly and helpful too.
Their menu had some interesting and unique options. We tried the Honey Latte and Spanish Latte. The honey latte was so goodâsmooth, subtly sweet, and exactly how I like my coffee. I finished it way too fast! The Spanish latte was great as well, but the honey latte definitely stole the show for me.
Overall, I highly recommend The Hub if youâre in town. Itâs worth checking out, especially if you enjoy smooth, flavorful coffee in a relaxed setting. Iâll definitely be coming back the next...
