We made reservations for 2 p.m. on Saturday; though they seemed confused when we told them we had reservations, and we had to show them the print out we brought along before they would seat us. There was an hour wait for anyone else but, oddly, and kind of creepily too, no line, just two people in the lobby who told us that. Too, there were hardly any cars in the parking lot; it looked practically empty. The reason our waiter gave us for the dining room being so empty, and an hour wait though no line, was because a couple of their wait staff had called off. It seemed like only four-six tables including ours had been seated in the entire place. Even so, our service was slow throughout and uneven, with some of our party of five getting their food before others, a completely missed appetizer, and a warning incredibly from the waiter not to order the rice. My granddaughter and husband ordered it anyway, and the waiter was right. It was a tasteless glob of icky-sticky, super starchy, overcooked white rice. The calamari appetizer was HORRIBLE too, with an extremely salty, burned KFC-type breading and tasteless, tiny calamari--completely inedible. And the mozzarella sticks tasted like the cheapest frozen from a grocery store and looked just like frozen fish sticks. Both appetizers were taken back practically untouched but not taken off our bill. The lobster lovers dream was Ok but so overpriced at $40. The baked potato side looked old and only had a small, sloppy smear of sour cream on top, no butter; did not eat. My husband and grandson said their surf and turf dinners were Ok. This is the last time we'll ever go there; the place needs a serious makeover; looks run down, dim and dirty inside; and my husband said the men's room was pretty gross too. Ew! for much of the food and service, and double Ew! for the place itself. *Update: Thanks to Red Lobster for getting back to us immediately and validating our complaint. We'll give the Mentor Red Lobster another try, but this location still needs a serious decor update and some unacceptable menu items removed or upgraded. UPDATE We returned today to try again. Food was mediocre, prices way up, more menu items gone, place just smells bad in the lobby. Great waitress though. Hardly anyone there at 4 pm on a Saturday. Won't...
Read moreFirst off I wanna say that I’m very disappointed in how everything was handled. We were all there to celebrate my cousins birthday and we have one of the nicest waiters you could ever imagine she treated her us with respect she handled us with professionalism and everything was going well until the waiter comes back and says she hast to leave us. We were all concerned and regardless of what it is nobody should ever be let go or fired from their job while serving customers that is so unprofessional and I would never go back here regardless of whatever the situation was it should’ve been handled after she took care of her customers and the table once her shift was over with.
Also whoever the manager is it shows that they have no respect nor dignity to respect an employee or human in such matter to the point that we have to reach out to her to make sure she’s OK regardless of her serving us or not. Certain things should be done behind closed doors not in public while everyone can observe and see for themselves. And to think like everything is gonna be OK and you just give us a new server we’re not stupid we know what happened all I can say is that you guys need to do better it was already bad enough that the restaurant is understaffed so there was a wait time anyway but to let go one of your best servers regardless of the situation is so unprofessional while they are serving us and doing their job correctly. Definitely need to do a better job handling situations of that nature.
Definitely would not recommend if stuff like this happens to many people are struggling as it is and jobs need workers it just shows you how jobs really could care less about you....
Read moreMy wife and I visited the Mentor location with family for a Birthday celebration. 🥳 🎉 The amount of food My granddaughter and stepdaughter got was more than they could eat in one sitting. I am Surprised Red Lobster doesn't expand the Kids menu to those over 60 and those trying to lose weight. Kind of like a value menu. More people in the door is always a good thing! My wife ordered the crunch fried shrimp.🍤 and I got the Fish and Chips with Fries and Hush Puppies and The Cole slaw! The Fish came out hot and had a most delectable batter. Really Crunchy! It was extra crispy and the fries hot and delicious! The Hush Puppies were a new offering. They come with a Honey Butter. They are about ping pong ball size and dip into the Honey butter. Never was a fan of Hush Puppies, with the Honey 🧈 butter they're better than the fast food version. Still not a fan, but I tried them. Never did get my Cole Slaw but forgot to say anything. Joshua kept us in refills and cheddar bay biscuits despite his many lunchtime customers. My wife likes her cold food cold and her hot food hot. Her only complaint was her popcorn shrimp was not peeled to her satisfaction and still had the tails on. She told out server Joshua C. and he replied "that's the way they come now". Brittani helped Joshua and served our Lunch piping hot. Overall, service great, good food and served hot! About $120 for our Birthday Celebration with 3 adults and a child with tax and tip. The Birthday Desert was complementary with a downloading of the Red Lobster 🦞 rewards app! Still a good place to...
