I've done 5-10 escape rooms at other escapology locations and their competitors. This was my first and last visit to Escapology Mentor. The location was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful as we expect at Escapology, thus two stars instead of one. Problems started with completing the waiver. There were multiple previous entries stored on the device browser used for the waiver. We informed the staff and she told us it was because the last people did not submit their form. That was not the case. The problem was the browser settings were set to save form entries. This is a personal privacy issue that is not acceptable. We did the Las Vegas room. Had things worked properly, this would have been a great room, but there will multiple problems with the hardware and technology. Neither of us could read the numbers on a couple of the locks. It didn't matter that we had the codes. We literally could not read the numbers and had to have a staff member come into the room to assist. I won't get into additional specifics to avoid spoiling the game but there were, at least, three problems where we had solved the puzzle but could not proceed because of glitches with the items or tech. It ruins the experience. There was also a party in an adjacent room that was obnoxious and vulgar. I understand the staff cannot be responsible for others but I've never had this problem before either and would avoid this location on that...
Read moreI've done a bunch of escape rooms with different companies including 3 in the Cleveland area, but this was my first time at Escapology. Overall, I'd say "Under Pressure" was a decent experience, but there were a lot of flaws, which made the room frustrating for us.
(Potential spoilers ahead - I'll try to be vague, so those who haven't played won't have their experience ruined.) For instance, we had the correct code for a combination lock in the first room, but it was broken and wouldn't open, so we ended up losing about 10-15 minutes trying to find a different combination (even used a hint), only to find it wasn't our fault it wasn't opening. Later on in the game, there was a missing piece that we needed to solve one of the puzzles, so we had to resort to trying all the numbers on the board (it hadn't been properly reset before our visit).
Overall, the room was disorganized, and the puzzles were not arranged well. For instance, we followed a sign on the wall and used prior clues we'd found to solve a puzzle, but then later on after we unlocked a different cabinet, we spent about 10 minutes re-solving that same puzzle - complete waste of time and energy that could have been avoided simply by placing the sign in a different location or eliminating it altogether.
I'd consider going again, but probably only if I have a discount code. I'd say Trapped provided a better experience all 3 times...

When we had went the room had broken down, sensors were peeling off of props and not functioning, digital props were displaying error screens and our game master was a young kid who was rude from the get go who had even asked if we would reschedule so he could leave early. Whenever we asked for a hint it was either for something we had completed or he gave us a literal answer to the next puzzle. The room was not reset properly as we did not have all the pieces we needed for a puzzle and our game master even came into our room and said âI donât know where the others areâ.
Due to our poor experience I had left feedback and we were offered return tickets by the manager and told to call her when we wanted to redeem them. It was a month or two before we tried to redeem them as our group has wildly varying schedules, except when we messaged her we received a text back stating âIâm sorry I think you have the wrong numberâ. This happened to EACH group member. When we had gone again to go bowling and tried another room (full price) our game masters were much better that day and deserve the world, and they had even informed us that YES WE HAD THE RIGHT NUMBER. The manager will promise you to make things right and then ghost you the moment you remove your negative review. Do. Not....
