I've visited this restaurant five times over the past three months. The first experience was awesome and I told the staff working that evening that the food was excellent and it truly was. Additionally, the staff were attentive and personable. We chatted about Mexican cuisine offered. I was looking forward to coming back and clearly I did; I also recommended others to try the restaurant.
Last night was an awful experience and this rating applies to that experience only. I ordered online as I had three times previously without problems. I called the restaurant to let the staff know that I received an incorrect order. No one answered the phone after two tries. I then got in the car and drove the ten miles back to the restaurant with the order that was incorrect. From the moment I interacted with the person who was wearing white earbuds, it didn't go well. He raised his voice and was truly the rudest person I have experienced in a restaurant. I was not angry at the time of my asking if the order could be redone. Mistakes happen. I suggested he could remove the meat that I had not ordered and put on the toppers I had ordered, and it I would be just fine. He forcefully threw the food in the trash and told me it was my fault because I didn't order those toppers online. I don't think that was the case as I have used the online ordering system previously without problems and I routinely order the same thing--although, again, mistakes happen and the website was acting skiddish at the time, not letting me access certain areas. In any case, he was visibly angry the entire time interacting with me in a loud voice and not letting me explain what it was that I had ordered. Hence, the staff placed the same meat on the order and it went back again. It was after he told me that he was sorry he had to say 'thank you' for my coming in. At that point, I left the food on the counter, asked for a refund, which I received, and left.
However, I did chat with the staff previously who relayed that the phone wasn't answered because the 'manager' worked with earbuds in and doesn't always hear calls. The person who I interacted with had earbuds in when I was there and when my daughter picked up the order. I found this out later when I returned home and talked with her about how the pickup went. She told me that she and another customer came to pickup orders and when they tried to ask if the orders left on the counter were theirs, he pointed to the orders from the kitchen area and waved them away having earbuds in at the time. There were no other customers in the resturant nor were there when I came in about 30 minutes later. My last words to him was that I predicted the resturant would close in less than a year and it wasn't because of the food, which was quite good. Needless to say, I can no longer recommend the restaurant and I truly am disappointed as I did enjoy the experience prior to...
Read moreI decided to give this place another shot. NEVER AGAIN. I ordered a pork burrito for pick. I had to wait 30 minutes for it to be ready.
The food was lukewarm. The burrito appeared hefty, but it wasn't There was barely any meat in there. It was overpowered by tomatoes. It did not have rice in there as advertised on the website. It wasn't even on the side. I had my friend order 2 sides of salsa for me, because the menu didn't advertise it was included. The food was edible but it was lacking freshness and flavors.
I called and asked for a refund. Whoever I spoke to on the phone, claimed that their burritos are not made with rice and that they aren't responsible for what the corporate website advertises, because they are a private franchise. He said he would have to a refund approved by corporate as well. He said a mistake wasn't made on his end and only offered a remake as a resolution. I argued calmly, that it was their mistake and that its their responsibility to be consistent with what corporate advertises.
I turned down the remake because the food is mediocre. You're better off going to Chipotle or Qdoba, OR a authentic mom and...
Read moreFirst time visiting, came during the Taco Tuesday 2 for $5 deal. Ordered 4 different tacos and a side of beans 'to go'. The person at the register kept pushing me to order a drink even after I refused. I mostly stopped in to try a few things on the menu. Restaurant was clean but empty at peak dinner time - should have been a sign. I sat at a table and waited for my order. Person at the register is having a conversation with a friend and is making jokes about customers being 'frugal' because they don't order drinks. Very awkward. Food was mediocre at best. Beans were watery and blended to a gummy consistency. Also came packed in a styrofoam container and leaked everywhere inside the bag. Tacos were just ok, Asada was the best of the bunch. The salsas were also watery and lacked flavor. Odd service and flavorless food, many better food spots in the immediate area for your money. Also, many questionable positive reviews propping the...
