Hibachi grill review only: Great Food, Unbearable Heat – A Disappointing Hibachi Experience
Our recent visit to Enso for hibachi was a mixed bag. The hibachi food itself was truly excellent, delivering on flavor and quality. However, the dining experience was severely hampered by an uncomfortably hot and humid environment.
With outside temperatures already high, it was clear the restaurant's air conditioning system was not functioning properly, especially in the hibachi area. Even the hostess told us they couldn't lower it any further, otherwise it will completely stop working. Seems like an HVAC company should come out and fix this situation, especially causeit seems to be known to the staff.
The heat, combined with the cooking from the hibachi grill, made for an incredibly uncomfortable and sweaty meal. I estimate the temperature inside was easily 80+ degrees with high humidity. Considering the premium prices paid for the food, it's quite perplexing that management seems unwilling to address the clearly deficient HVAC system for the entire property. This significantly detracts from what could otherwise be a fantastic dining experience.
This review specifically addresses the hibachi cooking portion of our visit. While the food was undeniably good, the extremely poor comfort level due to the heat made for a very negative overall experience.
I'm giving this a two-star rating for now, solely due to the uncomfortable conditions. I would be happy to update my rating to a much higher score in the future, should the air conditioning system be fully repaired and the dining environment become...
Read moreFar more a loud bar full of people drinking than a hibachi restaurant. There is no place to park as their parking lot is half the size it needs to be for the crazy 70+ people the idiot fire Marshal licensed them to have in this tiny little place. Had a look at the menu ahead of time and their prices for hibachi meals are not high, they are INSANE.
I figured I would at least pick up some only mildly overpriced sides and sushi to at least try the place before I made up my mind. Everything was mediocre at best. The waitress had no idea what anything on the menu was, no less could pronounce any of it. Got a side of hibachi noodles, they didn't even bother to cook them....literally just a bowl of plain noodles. All the sauces (yum yum/white sauce and dipping sauce for Gyoza) were pretty bad. The fried rice was very meh, if a hibachi place can't make fried rice....give them a pass. Especially when they are charging 50-100% more than any other hibachi place in the state, and then charging you extra to fry the rice!
Do yourself a favor, skip this place....it is just so not worth it to pay their insane prices for sub standard food. Leave it to the drunk Massholes and it will not last through the winter as the locals won't support them.
For great teppanyaki, go to Ichiban in Concord, Masa in Manchester, or IKKO in Portsmouth. You will save twice what you spend on gas, and get a FAR...
Read moreThis is just what the lakes region needed! We went here for my husband’s birthday dinner and everything was delicious! Everything was very fresh/ cleanly made from the appetizers to the sushi and hibachi, down to the dessert, not one complaint about the food or service. The food was just as good as anywhere in Portsmouth or Manchester actually it was better! Hibachi was Not greasy/oily or covered in sauce, the sushi was very fresh, we didn’t order drinks but they looked as if they were actually made with real ingredient’s and not the sugar sour mix, they actually looked like something you would order at a high end bar. The environment was also very clean and great vibes. Highly recommended for a nice hibachi night out. My only recommendation would be they need more tables somehow to fit more people! Also for anyone with nut allergies they don’t have any nuts in the building and non of their food is made with nuts either.( please keep it that way! It’s so hard for us to find restaurants we can eat at related to a severe...
