I’m going to give this new coffee place in Okemos an average score based for five reasons: 1. The person waiting on me kept having to tell the person Who was making my coffee how to make the coffee. So I get it, the place is new, and maybe the person making my coffee was new too. 2. The coffee well good was so hot. It was still very warm after an hour. I had to wait to drink this coffee for such a long time, I even went swimming prior to drinking this coffee and it was still warm. That’s how hot it was. A little too hot to have something to go and want to drink it while you’re driving. I ordered what the person recommended on the menu which was the first item on the menu called the Mufawar, so I couldn’t really tell if it was good or not because it was just so hot. 3. I also ordered the pistachio cheesecake which was delicious, but there were a couple of shells in it, and they almost broke my teeth So hard on my teeth otherwise I really enjoyed this dessert. I didn’t like the flowers on top. I did scrape those off, but otherwise it was smooth. It was delicate. It was light and flavor. It wasn’t heavy. I really enjoyed this dessert. 4. I also had a Samosa. When I ordered it, I was asked if I was OK with the veggie Samosa being spicy. I said that I was. I thought, well maybe this is spicier than an Indian Samosa, but it ended up not being very spicy at all. So when I got home and ate it, I was disappointed that it wasn’t very spicy and, I typically enjoy having peas in my samosas so if I were to choose an Indian Samosa or Yemen Samosa, I would choose an Indian Samosa. 5. Finally, while I enjoyed the atmosphere inside, I’m not a big fan of gigantic murals of people so it doesn’t matter what gender, it just has always kind of creeped me out to have a big gigantic mural of a person on an entire wall. They also need to add a little bit of warmth to the space with some plants or something. I think that would really add to a warmer environment and invite people to...

Bold, flavorful, and with an intoxicating aroma, it's a true adventure for the senses. But wait, there's more! Moka & Co. doesn't stop at the coffee. They boast a selection of sweet treats that will have you weak in the knees. Here's where things get truly divine - their cheesecakes are to die for. Rich, creamy, and with a unique flavor profile, they're unlike any cheesecake I've ever had. The cafe itself is warm and inviting, the perfect place to relax and savor your coffee and dessert. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to answer questions and make recommendations. I left Moka & Co. feeling happy, caffeinated, and with a serious sugar rush (in the best way possible). I can't wait to go back and try more of their Yemeni specialties, especially those incredible...
Read moreMet a colleague for a business meeting here and was excited to try a new coffee place. I will be honest, I chose Moka & Co. based upon the reviews and wanting to explore coffee differently. I was not disappointed! I selected the Maleki Coffee and couldn't have been happier. I was the perfect blend of spices and sweetness (I added sugar. Don't judge.) to make my tastebuds happy and wake me up!
I didn't order any food since I had eaten before, but the breakfast pastries looked delicious! The person who took our orders brought our coffee out to us, and the atmosphere was relaxed with a beautiful mural, authentic coffee presses, and music of Yemen in the background. I am curious how the East Lansing M & C compares to the Okemos location. However, this Moka & Co. will be a coffee shop added to the Love Spark's...
