T & D Coney Grill — Restaurant in Meridian Charter Township

We had previously gone to T&D for breakfast a few times. We had large portions and good service. The last time, the portions were smaller but still acceptable for the price. Today we went in for lunch. All postings I found online said they were open until 8. We got there just before 2 and the sign on the door said the kitchen closes at 2:30 and the restaurant closes at 3. We had checked the menu online also and knew what we wanted, so figured we could get our order in plenty of time. The menu I saw had a tuna salad plate, they didn't have it on the restaurant menu. I switched to a tuna melt, and after the server took the order in, she said the cook laughed because they didn't have that either. I then ordered an olive burger and asked what kind of soup they had. The soup was gone for the day. I ordered a salad with Thousand Island dressing. The "salad" was a plate of lettuce with a couple of small tomato wedges and onion slices. I had to ask a second time for the dressing. When it was dropped on the table, the server disappeared and it was not Thousand Island. Not sure of what it was, but couldn't get anyone's attention. My daughter ordered a burger and added fries and a coke. The buns on both burgers were really good, but the burgers were so small that there was at least 1/4" of bun around the edges of them! My husband had the Canadian French Toast. We've both had it before and it was always good. He asked for 1/2 and was served and charged for a full order. It really looked like a much smaller serving for the price. I can safely say that this was our last...

Zero Integrity. Foods good but personal is very unprofessional. My wife and I went in for breakfast and the waiter proceeded to apologize for tables not being clean. They do not have a busser and we're in need. It just so happens my son is looking for his first job. We talked to the assistant manager ( daughter of the owner ) and she told us to have him apply and that she would watch for his name on indeed. As he was super excited he apply quickly. Wait led by his phone and checked it every 10 minutes to see if they messaged him back. He reached out thru indeed and called a few times over the week to see if they had time to look into his app. Not once was a messaged returned and finally received a generic message on indeed saying unfortunately they aren't hiring. Well the daughter/assistant manager said you were. For his first experience of looking for a job you gave a poor example. WILL NEVER EAT OR SUPPORT THIS PLACE AGAIN. it did give me a opportunity to teach him that not everyone he will cross paths with with have integrity. Live and...

4 of us stopped in today because we were hungry, had time to kill, and wanted to spend some time together. Immediately, two members of our party noticed a peculiar (and horribe) smell, we tried to ignore it to enjoy our time together... but it certainly added quite a bit of "unpleasant" to a questionable experience. One member of our group asked for chocolate milk, much to our surprise, two members of the group could see into the kitchen and saw our server use his MOUTH to open the syrup (and proceed to make the requested chocolate milk and deliver it to our table). GROSS! Needless to say, the chocolate milk remained untouched on the table. We were concerned about saying anything about what we had seen for obvious reasons, and hoped that food prep was more considerate. Having never been in this situation, we did stay, which I regret. We won't be returning here... there are so many other options in the area, I'd rather spend...
