Starbucks — Restaurant in Meridian Charter Township

This was my worst Starbucks experience at this location. An employee that was referred to as a team lead with brown hair and blue eyes sat in the dining area for about 15 minutes talking with a guy friend while the only other employee struggled to manage serving a line of about 5 guests. I had jumped in at the end line and patiently waited. The girl did get up and go to the back just to continue her conversation with her guy friend about online dating and drama from their friend group. She invited what I assume to not be an employee into the back with her. The long-haired gentleman working the counter was trying so hard to keep up and kept thank the customers for their patience. The female employee must have started to have some guilt about how she was letting her coworker drowned in orders, so she finally started making some of the drinks but not before making her friend a drink carrier full of drinks. She continued to have her inappropriate conversation in front of the guests with her friend, though. She even played with the syrup, laughing and making jokes, which made the drink making process take longer. I wanted to scream! I have never seen such poor work ethic openly displayed for guests from someone your team places a leadership responsibility on, especially. In total, I waited 15 minutes in line and 30 more minutes to get the 2 drinks I ordered! My drink had too much ice mixed in and wasn't even good. This occurred on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, around 2pm. The only way I go to Starbucks is if I get a GC here, becuase I won't waste coffee. They get 2 stars becuase staff is always very friendly. But the wait is insane! If there are 3 people in line, expect 30 min wait. And I get straight off the menu, no speciality orders. Evert single time. The other thing is, Starbucks coffee taste burnt the majority of the time. The other part of the time it's overly sweet (I think in attempts to hide it). Starbucks is just not good quality coffee that is being cooked way too long at way too high of a temperature, to make it seem stronger. Overcooked and Burnt does not equal stronger. It you want stronger coffee you need to add more grounds/beans, not scorch what you have. You're much better off taking your money to Biggby or on another local coffee shop. Extremely inconsistent drinks. When you order a vanilla sweet cream cold brew everytime... you would think it would look and taste similar each time... you would be sorely mistaken. They have recipes for these drinks, so why don't they follow them. Sometimes it comes out like coffee flavored milk, sometimes it tastes like they forgot the syrup.... I don't understand why a $5 drink can't be made correctly no matter who's working.
