IT'SUGAR Meridian — Restaurant in Meridian

Went in while having a girls day with my cousin and we have always loved Its Sugar because they do have so many fun candies and the girl behind the register when we walked in was sitting on her phone not greeting customers as they came in or anything. After being in the store for about 5 minutes looking at everything the girl asks me if I am going to buy anything (which I originally had planned to do) and I said “I think so but we are just looking for now” and then she stated that the store doesn’t allow loitering and that because I was on my phone earlier it looked like I wasn’t going to buy anything so I needed to leave if I wasn’t going to buy anything. I’ve worked in customer service for years and so I never leave bad reviews, but I was pretty shocked at the cashiers attitude. Asked for her name and her and the manager wouldn’t give me her name. I probably won’t go back. Didn’t realize there was a no phone policy in a candy store? Cashier stated I was “on my phone for longer than 5 minutes” while I waited on a text back from someone meeting me in the village and so therefore it was loitering. I always shop here to get some candy for movie nights. I’ve been coming here since they first opened. But my last visit was horrible because of one employee called Amanda. Amanda was so lazy and rude to all the customers. Standing in the back room talking loudly and negatively about her boss while people were lined up waiting to check out. She totally ignored the customers. When it was finally my turn to pay we didn’t even get a “Hello” from her. She threw the bulk candy on the scale. And then couldn’t even read the right amount we had to pay. She then rolled her eyes realizing she said the number wrong, “whatever!” She said , making a motion with her hand as “who cares?” I got my stuff and said, “thanks, have a good night”, she rolled her eyes again and headed back to the back room to talk some more. NOT KID FRIENDLY!!!!! I didn't see any signs that indicated there are very inappropriate choices of candy in the shape of underwear, bags and magnets with swear words, etc., to warn parents before bringing their kids inside. These items are IN PLAIN VIEW. Don't take your kids here!

Please post a sign on the door or SOMETHING before families walk inside and their children get VIOLATED. Or, just get rid of the ridiculous products so children can safely come inside and browse. This is just wrong on so many levels, I'm disgusted by this chain of candy stores for drawing kids and families inside and exposing them to the "novelty" items when they may not even know what's...
