"You can't just eat good food. You've got to talk about it too. And you've got to talk about it to somebody who understands that kind of food."

307th person to review Main Street Burger in Meridian, Idaho on Main Street and Franklin across from the Rite Aid Center. This is my 427th review on Yelp.
If you live in Meridian you've probably driven by this place several hundred times like myself. I've had this place bookmarked both mentally and on Yelp for quite a while and today was the day! I'm glad I went and I will go def go again when I need a good cheapish meal.
A bright sunny day, the perfect weather for outdoor seating, not too hot, not too cold; however, the sun was uber bright but with the Main Streets outdoor covered seating we were kept quite comfortable.
The important stuff that you really want to know, right? The FOOD! Well, it's certainly not 5-star food, but it is a good overall 4 I'm a fan kind-of- place.
The menu: Burgers, fries (sold separately), other sides, taco salads, finger steaks, tots (which I hear are super good), hot dogs, and milkshakes. All average pricing.
I ordered the Taco Salad-- a generous portion of lettuce, tomato, well-seasoned meat, and cheese. Served with either ranch or Italian as opposed to sour cream and guacamole (either would have been fine) and salsa and made in-house tortilla chips, which were seasoned well, but were hard and stale. I ended up throwing the chips away.
Ranch is ranch some say-- well, not this guy! NOPE. However, don't like paying for ranch or other condiments, especially at chain restaurants, but I understand that this is a small business and they do provide a good serving size, so $.50 is fine.
My son ordered a crispy chicken burger. He thought it was good and that's all that matters, but it's three crispy chicken strips placed on a bun. The chicken strips are nice in size, crispy and thick.
My other child got a kids meal and her chicken was super hard that she cut the roof of her mouth on-- the inside was "mushy" but it was replaced without question. Perhaps it was a one-off-- just beware if you have a toddler.
There is a limited amount of seating inside. The tables are small and won't accommodate all body sizes, beware of that.
The parking lot has ample parking.
All-in-all, I liked Main Street Burger. I like the locally owned and operated aspect and would be happy to spend both my time and money there again.
