Mia's Caffe — Restaurant in Meridian

This is our favorite place to eat in Meridian. Their customer service is top-notch and the restaurant has an outstanding atmosphere. It is very family-friendly with games/activities for the kiddos and a comfortable lounge area by the windows. My personal favorite is the ever-present Bob Ross channel on the TV. Seating is limited, so get there early. We prefer to sit outside at the picnic tables, especially this time of year. The staff always have pleasant attitudes and they are focused on meeting their customers' needs to the best of their abilities. The food is prepared fresh and there is usually a line and a bit of a wait, but the quality of the food is consistently great. Their menu consists of a variety of options to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. The above qualities alone are worthy of a 5-star review, but today we had an even better experience than usual that inspired me to throw my two cents out into the Google-sphere. Today, when I placed my order, the cashier made a minor mistake and charged me for something that should have been included in the meal I ordered. When I brought it to the attention of the restaurant owner, she (no questions asked and without any hesitation or attitude) brought my kiddo a scoop of gelato of his choice to make up for the mistake. Would never return or recommend to anyone. First we ordered our food, I asked to add meatballs to one of the meals, which was an up charge. When they brought our food out, there was chicken not meatballs. I told her we asked to add meatballs not chicken and she said “oh we don’t have meatballs today” Which would have been nice to know before I was charged for it, instead I was charged for a meat no one was going to eat. Then after our food was placed in front of us, my husband went to ask for some silverware and they said “oh yeah sorry we don’t have any clean right now that will be a wait” Who just gives someone food then says “oh but there’s nothing to eat it with” it was so beyond strange. Not to mention there was only about 8 people in the entire restaurant, good thing it wasn’t full because there was no silverware available apparently. It was just horrible horrible service, and mediocre food....

The Service: Great staff who helped answer any questions we had.

Location: Good, decent parking out front for being downtown.

The food: We were hoping for breakfast as it looks like the better options for food there, but just missed the mark by a few minutes and was told they switched to lunch. Tried two of their paninis, they were decent. But to be honest, in our personal opinions not worth $10 a sandwich. So that’s where the 1 star deduction is coming from.

The vibe: Eclectic Chill Southern Cafe/coffee shop.

It’s a good quick place to eat, but I wouldn’t eat here regularly for lunch. Maybe just a beverage and chill place to work or connect with friends.
