Rudy's Meridian, Idaho. One of my favorite local places to go for food and drinks with friends until tonight. As an alum of the food and bev industry (~20 years), I am pretty easy going when it comes to service, wait times, requests, etc... Tonight was beyond reason. I don't know about you, but when I go out and spend $6 -$12 per cocktail, there is an expected level of service with which that entails. Well, don't expect that at Rudy's. Oh no, this was more like the Overland Bar, Vista Bar, Jim's Alibi, hell those places are actually grateful for the business. Our server dropped the check on the table quite rudely, quickly turned about, and left before anyone had a chance to ask otherwise. When she returned and she was asked to separate the bills. Obviously put out, she picked the check up and returned with 7 separate checks for 7 people. Now, anyone who has been in the industry knows when they see 3 couples that obviously everyone is not on their own bill but, beyond that, she did not even ask how we would like it separated. She walked away quite curtly and was obviously annoyed at something we had done. Rudy's Meridian, this is not service!! You cannot justify charging people the prices you charge and condone this type of experience. I assure you I am not a stranger to Rudy's Bar and Grill. I live less than 3 miles from the establishment. I have been going there for the past 10 plus years. I have family who are regulars. I am acquainted with their managers. I do not write this review with enjoyment or a feeling of vengeance. I write it with sadness as one of my favorite local spots has turned quite unacceptable and will have to second guess myself the next time I make a choice for food and drink. (A note, it gets much worse with a very, very, very rude and confrontational bartender along with the denial of any wrong doing from the server or an apology from anyone. I wrote the review to try and capture the consumer...
Read moreRudy's has changed and not for the better! We have been going here quite a few years and it had been a while so we made our way back in on a Saturday around dinner time. Usually the place is so full that you could hardly get a seat. Not so much anymore! Should have been the first warning! Ordered a Philly sandwich with fries and hubby asked if he could have a regular bun with the Hamoneer burger instead of the briosh bun they switched to. The server was great and said yes but she came back a minute later and said they used to have regular buns but no longer do. We changed to chicken strips for hubby. The food was delivered in a timely manner but the Philly was not as it said in the menu. Everyone knows a Philly is sliced beef. They are serving theirs with ground beef! They tried to tell us it was shredded ribeye! Nope! It was ground beef of some kind. I know ground beef and this was a thin patty fried like a hamburger and they are trying to say they do theirs different. More like cheaper and charging $15.99 for what amounts to a ground beef sandwich. The menu clearly stated sliced ribeye and not ground or shredded. They also skimp on the fries and tots. Both meals had a few but not like they used to. We did not pay for the "Philly" because it was not a true Philly. Just shared the chicken strips and tots. The tots were overcooked and there were maybe 20 of them. The slaw was ok. Nothing to write home about and seemed a tad bit old like a few days. Shame as this used to be our go to place but no longer. Guess others are feeling the same way from the open tables we saw. To many other places to eat at out there and if they want repeat business, they need to go back to the way it used to be! Our server was great but we won't be back as it is just to expensive to eat out and get sub par food due to them cutting corners. Their loss as they are plainly losing repeat customers...
Read moreI have been coming here for years, never had a bad experience. Food is always fantastic and the service and staff are always friendly. Until yesterday... came in with a friend around noon, it wasn't terribly busy but wasn't slow either. Our server, Camri, was honestly the rudest server I have ever encountered. She rushed to for our food order, asking about three times within the first 15 minutes even after we told her we needed a minute with the menu and after ordering appetizers, I understand promptness and wanting to take care of your tables in a timely manner, but that was not the case. She, multiple times throughout our stay, walked away rolling her eyes before I could even finish my sentences. When our meal arrived at the table, there was never once a check back to see if we needed anything or if everything was alright, which it wasn't, we needed more napkins, condiments, and refills. Finally, after watching her pass our table multiple times there was still never a check back, I couldn't even as for my bill. She came by and quickly grabbed my card off the table without an explanation or anything of the sorts. Honestly the most disappointing server experience I've had ever in any restaurant, I understand being busy and having orders to fulfill as I also work in the industry, but this was just flat out lack of care and respect for your customers. As much as I would love to come back, I'll probably just stick with going to the McMillan location due to how uncomfortable Camri made my...
