Burrito Express — Restaurant in Mesa

I would like to say how much I appreciate the great people I deal with here on an almost weekly basis. Mainly go in the morning on my day off- they give punch cards for free burritos too which I've used a few times. Yes,the cooking area is open to view. The people who complain about that are idiots. The pots are used daily & seasoned but not dirty. In fact I have never observed anything that wouldn't pass a health inspection, and believe me I know what I'm talking about there. I've worked in food service a long time and keep a A rated work area myself. I see them putting unused product ( shredded lettuce etc) back in their cooler when they're done with it and other things many places neglect to do. My favorite is the green chile. (beef) and egg combo but I have tried both the mild and hot machaca burritos too. I've heard the egg, steak & potato is awesome also.All good but the hot macahaca is too much for my old stomach! The interior is different and colorful but not dirty, I only go in the ladies restroom but have always found it clean and well stocked. For those who are don't like the shopping center, it IS old. There used to be a movie theater ( saw Star Wars there) in the corner and a lot of things have been in an out. Except Burrito Express and KFC. I have never been panhandled there and no one bothers you so not sure what the griping is about. This location does a booming take out business but they are pretty fast from what I observe and has lots of regulars like me who often times have their order remembered when they come in. I like to support local business whenever I can and I have no reservations...

Normally I have been a fan of Burrito Express and order from them several times a year. My neighbor had food delivered to him yesterday and I was trying to relax in my home next door but found it impossible as there was a car with the bass so loud everything was vibrating. So I go out side and ask the guy nicely if he could turn the volume down when coming into the neighborhood. He is like, "oh, I can't do that as they are 1200 somethings he said...., ya da ya da ya! I'm thinking REALLY!!!! So I told him that was rude/disturbing coming into neighborhoods with it that loud. He could have cared less! So today I call to talk to the manager as there wasn't one there when I called yesterday afternoon. She picks up the phone and I told her what happened. She is like - ok, I will talk to him. No sorry for the disturbance, no asking who it was (because she knew). She sounded like she could care less also. I told her he should have turned it off when he got in the car to leave. She didn't care. Then I asked her what her name was - because I didn't want someone pretending to be a manager who wasn't. She refused to give it to me. She said this is a family business and I told her I know as I order from you, but how do I know you are the manager if you won't give me your name. Their cheese for the supreme nachos is watered down. The service was relatively quick and nachos should be easily enough made. this is just horrible with the watered down cheese. The steak is good enough I suppose I can't taste anything else except the cheese. If I were to go to any store and get tortilla chips I could make this exact flavor. The accessories for the nachos are subpar. After pouring the cheese water on the nachos it made it almost impossible to eat, if you were just to dig in and use your fingers it's still horrible. you might as well stick with 99 cent gas station nachos instead of this atrocity. update: I got these nachos to go an hour before they were closing, now that I taste all of it, the beans are salty and quite disgusting. if there was guacamole and meat on this, it's quite disgusting in the saltiest way. The jalapeños I'm quite sure came from a can and they were pretty spicy which was good for my palate considering all the saltiness. the green sauce/salsa wasn't too bad considering. I'm quite positive this is the worst nacho supreme I've ever tasted in my life and that comes from someone who would drunken cook at 2 a.m. I can't believe they can...
