This was a hugely disappointing experience. When I arrived less than a third of the tables had anybody at them most of the tables were dirty with with plates that hadn't been cleared off the table drinks that hadn't been cleared off the table and no busboy in sight working on clearing anything. After a while I was finally seated and placed my order my order came out incorrectly and when I pointed it out the server asked me to keep my rice and beans and eat them while they remade the rest of the plate. I Informed the server that I would rather eat my rice and beans warm with my meal. When my meal was finally re-served they re-served me the plate that my rice and beans had originally come out on and they were room temperature. When I pointed that out, the server did not care at which point I asked for a manager. When I spoke with the manager the manager stated that someone had called in sick and that they were short-handed. But I don't see how that had anything to do with getting a wrong order and reserved cold food. While I was talking with the manager the table next to me also spoke with the manager and complained about how their food had taken nearly 25 minutes to be served and how they also got the wrong food and how disappointed they were with the service. And then the table next to them also interrupted the conversation and it said essentially the same thing that they had had a terrible experience with wrong orders also with a long time to get their food. The manager apologized but did nothing more. Didn't try and take a discount didn't offer a discount just kept repeating that she didn't have enough employees. At which point I piped up and said why didn't you call someone else in, and she said no one would come in, and then I asked her why didn't she call another manager and if another manager wouldn't show up why didn't she call the owner because there's no excuse for all of these tables to have a bad experience. I ordered chimichanga enchilada style with rice and beans and an iced tea total to be nearly $25. I've been to other Mexican food restaurants and that seems awfully expensive and it wasn't some sort of gourmet chimichanga or...
Read moreJust left Los Picos Restaurant. After almost 15 years we decided to return. Today was my Mother's birthday celebration dinner and from beginning to end our experience was disappointing. Hours prior to arriving we previously made a reservation for 7pm. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with what appeared to be an exhausted, irritated, and annoyed waiter stating there was only room outside (we were a group of 7 adults and 2 childs). After explaining we had made a reservation prior and it was my mother's birthday she proceeded stating there was no room since there tables were all full. Finally we were able to get a table and order our food. After almost 40 minutes of waiting in there extremely hot atmosphere the food finally arrived and honestly was 5/10 and was not what we remember from years ago. Upon finishing our dinner I proceeded to the checkout/ pay counter I was hit with a $228 bill which almost $40 dollars was gratuity. I was planning on leaving a tip however not $40 after the poor service. My card accidentally declined and she ran it again, this time she accidentally inputed $193 which was supposed to be the correct amount but quickly erased the amount and stated she did not know why it charged less that time. The third time it showed $228 again and my card went through. It was until then I realized she charged me a $36 gratuity.
Overall I rate this place 0 stars, unfortunately I have to leave atleast 1.
This place is expensive, it's HOT, and the service is terrible!!!
What we thought would be a great wonderful evening to celebrate my Mothers birthday turned out to be a...
Read moreI placed an order for pickup and the girl working there was very nice and it didn't take very long,I ordered the Tioponcho Pork chimichanga which was very good, the meat was very flavorful and the guacamole was very good, and they were generous with the guac and sour cream, Overall extremely good chimi. the chips and salsa were good but not the best. Salsa is chunky and i like that but has a spice that burn a little and made it taste a little processed. I ended up eating all the salsa so its good. I dunno im sure alot of people would like it im more a cilantro with less spice type of guy. But you could tell it was quality salsa. The rice was also really good. More fluffy and light with some nice flavoring. More a whitish, yellow with small leafy trimmings, It tasted like basmati rice. A nice change from the always orange fried rice you get from most mexican food restraunts. The refried beans were cheesy but a lil runny but not bad. Overall the food quality was excellent. I plan to go back and try something different. The inner decor wasn't bad, but it is small any conversation is heard throughout the restraunt. But has a freindly vibe. Ive eaten at alot of mexican places and this ranks up there towards the top. Right around Los Dos Molinos which is highly rated so far i have glimmered.
update 5-30-15 have since been back there many times and they added more cilantro to the salsa and is a little spicier, making it really good, have no...
