I went inside the store trying to find something very simple... "Lucky me" "Pancit Canton". Normally you can buy three for a dollar or $0.33 at Seafood City in California. So, here in Phoenix I expected to pay $0.45 to $0.50 per piece. What to my surprise should appear... is old stock of lucky me at $1.65 per piece. How could they rip off their fellow countrymen who are looking for this little treat to find a taste of home. I opened up the subject with the one who appeared to be the owner or manager of the store. She said she was from Taguig Manila and that she was not greedy. Then offered me a 10% discount, but no more. I declined and decided not to buy even one piece. It's unforgivable. Don't go to this store. I will assume that all things in this place are triple the value that they actually should be sold at. They are greedy and should not be allowed to thrive. Hopefully their store will close someday and another group will come in who is more in the know of how to treat their fellow countrymen from the Philippines. "Terrible!"
It seems as though the owner of "Manila Sunrise Sari sari" has decided to "white wash" and describe his poor business habits as a "cost to the consumer." In response to my review. You can see it down below.
Just so all of you know, I went down the street 5 minutes to Mekong plaza and bought six pieces of lucky me Pancit Canton that is up to date and not old stock. For $3.39 that's "$0.56 each" compared to Manila Sunrise sari sari which sold them for $1.65 each.
You do know that the store down the street has the same shipping cost as you do don't you, Mr. Sari Sari?
So for 24 pieces of lucky me, I paid $13.56 at Mekong Plaza. If I had bought at Manila Sunrise, I would have paid $40.00+ with tax. That's a difference of $26.50 for the same product just 5 minutes down the road. If I had been able to buy at "Ranch 99" (also just down the road) I would have only paid $0.49 each. That's adding insult to injury for Mr. Manila Sunrise.
Seems like you should get a better shipping partner. Or consolidate the shipment with ranch 99 or Mekong market. Maybe you can save your customers some money and they might even decide to come to your store.
I have no ill will toward this business man only that he is not aware of his own mistake. Causing us consumers, some of who are also "not aware" to pay an unrealistic price for a very simple, fun product. So my review and my opinion of your store remains. And you cannot "white wash" it here in my point of view....
Read moreWe drove 2 1/2 hours just to get there so we can sent our package but they were closed. I even called them ahead of the time the manager/owner told me that they will be open at 12:00pm to 6:00pm and we got there exactly 12:00 pm but sadly they were close and I called them and the manager/owner told us that there in the event right now so they canât open the store but she said that they will be opened at 3:00pm so we waited for how many hours we didnât really mind it because we just wanted to sent our boxes until itâs already 5:00pm. So we left. Never going to this store again you should change your business hours. âWhat happen to thing you said that you would...
Read moreAno ba! We drove from Phoenix to the sari sari store that stated they open at 10am. We arrived at 10:20am on a Tuesday and they were closed. We called the cell and store numbers. A woman said someone was on their way and we waited 15 min until we realized they weren't coming. Instead we checked out another Filipino store. I'm sad that our own kababayans run a business like this. So embarrassing to Filipinos. If business hours are not kept, they should be updated. Doesn't matter if you have to go the bank. Take care of that before opening or have someone cover the store so you don't lose business....
