Carnitas Cochiloco — Restaurant in Mesa

Me and my partner were so excited to try this place because of their story of starting as a food truck and now has a building. I love the look of the place. The earth tones in there for some reason just seems relaxing and matches for the restaurant. Server was great! She was able to help us out and helped us with our dinner choices for sure. We ended up sharing carnitas mac and cheese, al pastor wings and their fried ice cream. The flavors of the Mac and cheese was perfect! Everything blended together so well! The al pastor wings, it’s so interesting to think about that flavor on a wing but it was so yummy especially with the grill taste too. Love avocado-tajin-ranch for it, added even more to it. It also came with a salsa and it’s weird to think about it with wings, but it works. Finally… the fried ice cream. My lord I guess I was use to smaller serving from other places but this one. The plating too, it is a great sharing item and we want it again. We will be coming back to try more of the menu especially the brunch menu because like 2-3 things catch our eyes! I picked up 3 - too good to go orders to share with my family. I was boasting all week about the mac and cheese with carnitas because I never tried it before and it sounds so good.

The orders were one of each: Chilaquiles 32oz pozole And the mac and cheese with carnitas.

Only issue was that I got 2 chilaquiles and missing the mac and cheese with carnitas. That was the main reason I went. Food was still delicious and we all enjoyed it. I live too far to go back to correct the order and I realized the error at home. Just means I gotta try again. Thank you for the delicious food...

I stumbled upon this place through Too Good to Go, got the chili verde carnitas with rice and beans. It came with what tasted like house-made yellow corn tortillas which were so tasty and fresh. I also got the flan. Everything was sooo good! I definitely want to come back to dine in sometime.
