Extremely disappointed with the food and service on Sunday June 11th around 9:30pm. To start the āmanagerā who consistently closes drive thru is extremely condescending to customers specifically when ordering. Iāve been coming to this location for years not by choice but because itās the closest, and have no idea how he still has a job working directly with customers. I placed a large order for a family of 7. Some food was missing/not rung up but I can understand with the number of items it can get overwhelming. I get home and we begin to eat the food. My boyfriend, eating a cheeseburger with bacon and ketchup in the dark, realized the inside middle of the burger was completely raw and uncooked. Pictures below to show. Within 10 minutes he is vomiting up the burger with stomach pains and remained sick the rest of the night. This situation is frustrating as is. My mother calls (she paid for the order I just picked up) to inform the staff and was met with the utmost inappropriate response from whoever decided to answer that phone. The first 3 attempts they would answer and hang up. The 4th time a man answers, not the one taking the order working window, rudely asking āWhos this?ā as if this is his personal cell phone. She responds is this del taco? She gets hung up on. Confused she tried the number listed on Google pages again. Assuming no way that couldāve possibly been an employee answering like that. She calls again and the man asks āwhoās this? My mom asks once again is this del taco? The man responds immediately āyeah it is what about it?ā My mom asks weāre you the one making the burgers? And he once again hangs up the phone on her while she was speaking. Iām absolutely shocked and disappointed in choosing this establishment for business. To spend that amount of money Iād rather go somewhere to be taken serious as a paying customer and not worry about whose really behind the counter making our food. Iām currently 9 months pregnant and thank god I did not end up eating that burger or some other mishandled/uncooked food. I will be looking into further action to figure out why this location believes in disrespecting customers after serving food that can kill them or cause serious illness. Extremely unprofessional and will never come here again.
UPDATE: Since no one will answer a phone call without hanging up on you, I chose to call corporate. They asked me to fill out some info for this to be handled correctly. All they are asking for is the first names of the manager working that night, and whoever was closing with him (the manager was NOT who answered the phone). The lady I spoke to inside, refused to give me any names and said I needed to wait until Wednesday for the manager to return. This is ridiculous as every employee in customer service wears a name badge for this specific reason. I am not asking for any personal info. Not only that, but why is this BUSINESS being run with no one in charge for 4 days, serving undercooked raw food to pregnant women and children, while someone is playing games with the phone up front? The lady I spoke to was going back and forth, saying only the manager can answer the phone, yet someone just answered last night. She canāt give me any names but still said the crew names were Josh and Eric. She made a snarky comment regarding the manager needing a day off too. I was a store manager myself and have been in those shoes before. No one in charge Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday is ridiculous. No assistant manager, and clearly the āshift managersā are not capable of basic customer service. Looks and sounds like this establishment is understaffed, incapable, and should not be operation.
I have followed up with corporate and requested a confirmation that this has been taken care of. I do not want any refund or gift card, I want the employees, Josh, Eric, and the woman I spoke with today to be reprimanded for the absurd treatment. And if this location continues to stay open it needs to have an actual trained manager in charge...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecided del taco would make a fine dinner so I went to the drive through. Thought I'd order something different for a change. I ordered the 3 piece chicken strip and fries combo, with a coke to drink. I was the only customer in the drive through so I knew I wouldn't have to wait too long. Turns out I did. Took forever to get my food. By the time I got it I noticed a long line of cars behind me waiting also. I was so hungry I couldn't wait to get home to eat so I parked and started after my food. The fries were soggy and Luke warm at best with no salt on them at all. The chicken was nice and hot but had a strange kind of bitter aftertaste. I couldn't eat more than one piece and I had to force that down with soggy French fries with no salt. Luckily the coke tasted fine so washing this disaster down was the easy part. Yes it was one of the more inexpensive meals on the menu costing me less than 8 bucks, but cmon you guys, every meal should come out of that window as freshly made as possible. What do I have to do spend a certain amount of money in order to get hot food? To get food that actually tastes good? Please don't put a price cap on flavor. If you do you will never see another dollar from me. I don't plan on going back anytime soon over this last visit but I'm sure I'll venture back at some point. I'm just not going to order the chicken strip again. I'll stick to what I am used to ordering. Normally I would have asked the window person if the fries are freshly made. For some reason I didn't ask on this trip. I hate that the norm now is if you want freshly made food you have to ask for it. That go's for most if not all fast-food restaurants around town. If we want a hot big Mac we know to order it without pickles so it's made fresh. Each place has its own qwerk in ordering. But again how sad is it that we have to do this in order to get fresh food. Nothing I have ever ordered from ANY fast food chain has ever come out of the package looking like the representation photo posted on the ordering menu. False advertisement to say the least. But we all know this. It's been this way for years. We the consumers need to put a stop to it because what's next? We by the food knowing it doesn't look like the menu item and we eat it anyway. Now they want to make us order the food, pay for the food, take it home then discover how bad it tastes because they know the probability factor of us driving all the way back to complain is minimal at best. Cmon people don't let them do this to us. Help me make America...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo it's 1am and I am looking for some grub and Google Maps shows that Del Taco is open until 2. It was a mile and a half out of my way, but it was at least showing open when Taco Bell was closed. I know that Google Maps isn't always right though, so I downloaded the Del Taco app real fast and the app actually showed that it was open until 230am. So I made my way to Del Taco. I don't go there super often so I pulled up and started looking at the menu. Nobody greeted me over the intercom and I thought it's late maybe nobody noticed me right away, its happened before. So I looked over the menu all the whole I could hear people shuffling things around through the intercom and then after a couple of minutes I said: "Is there anyone there?" "We closed at 1am" - obviously annoyed man over the intercom "oh the app says 2:30 you guys.." - me (I was going to say you guys should update that) The stern annoyed man cut me off and said "we don't have an app". "For Del Taco?" - me (I was confused because I was looking right at the Del Taco app) "The app is run by corporate and has nothing to do with us" - annoyed man "Alright..." - me
First of all you definitely seemed to actually know I was there, you could have said sorry we're closed when I first pulled up. Secondly, how do you not have an app? Also are you saying that corporate has nothing to do with you or that the app has nothing to do with you? Or possibly even both? Also how could they have nothing to do with you. If you really had NOTHING to do with each other you wouldn't be called Del Taco.
I've spent a lot of time in customer service. I've had to work late nights and it's not always the most fun thing, but you still need to treat customers with respect rather than treating them as an annoyance. If you don't want people showing up late because corporate put in the wrong time, call corporate and have them put in the right time instead of pissing off your customers and having them write long...
