Don Camaron — Restaurant in Mesa

We had a surprisingly fabulous late lunch! The mariachi players were just leaving as we arrived, so the bar atmosphere was fairly quiet, which I like. The server brought us a sample of the mango-rita when we asked about them. It was wonderful (although we did not order one as it was midday). My shrimp tacos were very hot (well-cooked and fresh) and beyond yummy. The portions are much bigger than I expected, so I had one to bring home. My husband ordered marlin, fish and carne asada tacos. They were all really good and served hot. A side order of rice and beans was different and good -- drier, flaky rice and beans were thin and gone instantly! We thought $33 was good for the value received. bland tacos not worth $2.50 each. They had us waiting nearly 15 minutes before they asked us for drinks and gave us chips. we were 3 minutes from just walking out.

to top it off, they wouldn't honor my 100% valid BOGO-entree coupon. it was an Entertainment coupon which means the restaurant signed up voluntarily to be a part of the program.. which is irritating that they wouldn't accept my coupon without a reason.

our server asked my boyfriend if he'd like another beer, but did not refill my obviously empty water cup.

don't go here - Mexican food isn't hard to come...

This place is overpriced for the quality of the food. We ordered a parillada for 2, seafood cocktail, fish and a couple drinks. Ended up paying $154 for 4 people. There was live music which was extremely loud the waitress couldn't take our orders till the music finished. Oh by the way, if you want a song to be played at your table expect to pay $30 a song or $500 and hour! Cheap tables and chairs to enjoy...
