With a sense of excitement and anticipation, my wife and I decided to embark on a 9-mile journey to the Krispy Kreme on West Main Street. This would be her first experience tasting the iconic Original Glazed Donut, and I was eager to share this special moment with her. The drive was filled with happy chatter and the sweet promise of delicious treats ahead.
Upon arriving at the drive-thru, our enthusiasm was met with an unusual silence. We patiently waited at the speaker for three to four minutes, expecting a cheerful greeting. Finally, I said, “Hello! Is anyone there?” The response came curtly, “I’ll be right with you.” Undeterred, we continued to wait as vehicles piled up behind us. Eventually, the employee asked for our order.
With enthusiasm, I ordered two Original Glazed Donuts. To our dismay, we were informed they had run out. I gently expressed our disappointment, explaining that my wife had never had Krispy Kreme before and we had driven 9 miles for this experience. The employee’s response was crass and dismissive: “I’m sorry. You came too late.” Too late? It was as if Starbucks had run out of coffee. Nonetheless, we decided to try other donuts—my wife chose a Sugar Donut, and I selected a Chocolate Covered Custard Donut, reminiscent of my fond memories of Boston Crème donuts.
We completed the transaction and received our order. My wife immediately noticed that the donuts were cool to the touch. We drove home with a sense of deflation but still hopeful to enjoy the donuts.
Upon arrival, we discovered the full extent of our disappointment. My donut was so stale that the custard had receded into the depths of the pastry, leaving behind a dry, flaky, and waxy texture. My wife’s donut was equally unappealing.
This experience marked the culmination of a series of disappointing visits to Krispy Kreme. The poor service and subpar products have eroded my once-high opinion of this brand. In a world where Crumbl Cookie and numerous other companies excel in both service and quality, Krispy Kreme has become a relic of unfulfilled promises and fading memories. Farewell, Krispy Kreme. You have lost a...
Read moreCame in to get some treats for a birthday. I have never had any trouble here before. The young man behind the counter was so rude. I requested 4 of the spring mini doughnuts with the little duck tails for my nieces and he put them in a bag which completely crushed the little design. When I asked if he could replace them he said it wouldn't matter because the doughnuts would get damaged anyways. I told him I would be careful with the box and he rudely asked if I would also be inspecting the rest of my order. When he gave me the doughnuts in a small box one of them was upside down. No way for it to have flipped on the way to the car because I was being careful! When my husband went in to request a replacement he again shoved the doughnut in a bag. I asked for a refund and was told he was not able to do so. So I again requested he replace the doughnuts and his attitude at a simple request was so unwarranted. When I pointed out this was his job and he should be better he just told me it was a "secondary" job. So I guess that means theres no need to put any effort into any form of customer service. This was Sat April 8th at...
Read moreKrispy Kreme headquarters would not have provided employee service training for employees like this. The employee had a neat appearance, but seemed tired and not at all welcoming. Since English is my second language, I may not be good at communicating, but even though I spoke with the correct words, they didn't listen and if I hadn't checked, I would have checked out with the wrong product. And even though I bought five boxes, they didn't help me by telling me, as a customer, to pack them. When he sarcastically asked, “Why don’t you help me?”, he frowned and helped me. I used to eat donuts often in California, and since it was my child's birthday, I drove 25 miles round trip to give them something different, but I was really disappointed. I see on the news how difficult it is to find people these days and try to understand business owners, but I think this is going too far. There weren't even any napkins with the Krispy Kreme logo on them, only the recycled napkins used in regular restaurants. Ah, I like Krispy Kreme, but why is this like...
