TL:DR: Rude drive-thru attendant ruined experience which, in turn, encouraged me not to order any food for myself, just was I was required to get for my wife.
Attempted to go through the drive through to purchase what wife requested: a ¼lb with cheese meal (plain) and an additional sandwich, plus what I intended to get. I pull up and read the menu and see what I need to order is a...2a? I've never seen sub-options on the menu before, so that was new to me. I usually just get cheap chicken sandwiches, so I don't have to deal with combos.
After a moment, the drive-thru attendant greets me and starts to take my order. After I stated I needed a 2a combo, she asks what size meal it was. This was also a new question for me since, as a customer, I usually heard the question "What do you want to drink with that?" or I'd specify that I wanted a large soda/fries when I placed the order. At the time, though, it just didn't compute for me what she was asking, probably from the tiny amount of sleep I had that day. When I said I didn't understand and attempted to reiterate my request, I was apparently too loud, as the attendant interrupted me to say, " Sir, you don't need to scream in my ear. I got a headset on, okay? Thank you very much. Now what size meal is it?" When I said I didn't understand, she put me on hold and simply flipped to the person in the other lane without another word.
If my wife hadn't specified she wanted McDonald's, I would have just left and never came back. Instead, I backed out of the drive-thru, went inside, and placed my order without a problem with the cashier. When she asked the same question, and I clarified what she meant, a total of 5 seconds was consumed in the process and all was well. I elected to skip ordering food for myself as I'd lost my appetite from being irritated.
So, apparently, the drive-thru attendant not only has an attitude problem but also doesn't know how to communicate or spare a few seconds to explain things. That's okay, though. Inside I found this neat poster on the wall with a phone number I could call to leave my feedback, which I did. I don't have a lot of confidence in that being effective, as this place has 3.1 out of 5 stars, but maybe calls are more effective than reviews/complaints on here.
I will not be returning to this location, though. I've got too much going on for me to want to deal with rude teenagers who don't mind snapping...
Read moreWe want to say thank you sooooo much! Two the two gentlemen that worked the overnight shift on 8/26! We can not remember their names. The McDonalds on Ellsworth and Apache Trail had a Gas Leak. We had already paid and had been waiting for our food, for about 30 minutes, when we were told to come back at a later time, due to the gas leak. Two hours later, we called and we were told that they would be up and running in 15 to 20 minutes, we then drove back and the drive through was closed, we called again being right outside the building, and our call got ignored. We understand that they had a gas leak and it is something very serious and important, but at least we felt that they could of answered to let us know that we should come back the next morning or that they needed more time because it was something that wasn't going to be fixed at a fast pace. In the other hand the two gentlemen that work at this McDonalds(Signal Butte & 60) we're absolutely incredible their customer service was on point 👌 they helped us with our issue and they honored our order by making our food that we had originally ordered on Ellsworth and Apache Trail. They went above and beyond for us, and we are truly appreciative of them for honoring our order. We are bummed that we can not remember the name, of one of them that really knocked it out of the park. He updated our drinks, dropped in some fresh pies and added a few cookies to our order. If we were to be able to give more then five stars we would absolutely do it. This will from now on be our go to McDonald's. Again please take notice that the service they provided really showed that they care for their customers. Please please ask around your employees so you can know who this was, they honestly deserve a raise or a form of appreciation. We value and appreciate your hard work. Thank you...
Read moreWish we never stoped to eat., my husband, who is battling brain tumors and seizures, and my brother Anthony, who is on dialysis, stopped at McDonald’s located at 1328 S Signal Butte Rd, Mesa, AZ 85209 because they were hungry on their way home.
When they arrived, a worker first told them the fryer was down, then said he would give them some free food. But after handing them food, this same worker called the police and falsely reported that they were “acting rowdy.” My husband and brother were not being rowdy at all—they are two grown sick men just trying to eat. A little young redhead white guy without values, cost us time and money. I also want a full refund.
To make matters worse, there were people inside the lobby openly smoking, and the worker claimed my husband and brother smelled like weed just because of that environment. My husband simply needed to use the restroom—he thought it was open since people were in the building smoking—but they accused him of trespassing just for needing to pee.
As they were leaving, several police cars pulled up. The officers accused them of trespassing, claimed they smelled like marijuana, and arrested my brother. This was all based on a false report. Even the police admitted it was a case of being in the “wrong place at the wrong time while being Black in Mesa.”
This is racism. This is injustice. No family should have to go through this. Please be aware: if you are Black in Mesa, this McDonald’s location has employees willing to call the police and make false...
