LongHorn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Mesquite

Very understaffed!! We came on a Monday for our belated Fathers day dinner and was not busy at all. They told us we had a 30 minute wait due to our large party of 8 when we arrived at 7:30 was not seated till 8:35 because host forgot to mention to the other host to adjoin two tables together for our party and instead sat 2 separate parties. Once we were seated we were greeted by our waiter who was very courteous. He took our drink order and brought that promptly along with taking our order. Now 45 minutes later (9:15) our salads finally came and hoping our food would come right after which was not the case. it was by 9:40 when our food finally arrived. The steaks were cooked very well but they were way over seasoned which caused it to be so salty. We were hungry and it was almost 10 so we just dealt with it and scraped off what we could. Then all of the sudden another waiter started to help clear things off our table while were eating so it was a little distracting but I understand that it was coming to closing time but still we wouldnt be in this predicament if we received our order in a timely manner. We were winding down and noticed my sister had a huge crack on the side of her drink glass. We let our "secondary" waiter know about it and they just shrugged it off saying "oh it must of cracked after it was coming off the hot dishwasher" and then they went on there way. Didnt even bring a manager or anything just the bill. By this time I was just fed up and just paid the bill and left.

We are big fans of Longhorn but the Mesquite location was unfortunately a bust. Management needs to have more control of this location and assign adequate amount of staff. Reason im saying this is while were waiting we saw 2 waiters leaving for the day while there was so many patrons waiting...

I am writing to share a very disappointing experience that ruined what was meant to be a special evening for my wife’s birthday. From the moment we were seated until the moment we left, my family and I felt uncomfortable, rushed, and ultimately discriminated against by our assigned waitress.

We mentioned it was our first time dining at your restaurant and asked for recommendations, yet instead of being welcomed, we were met with impatience and no genuine interaction. There was no small talk, no effort to make us feel comfortable—just a rushed and dismissive attitude.

What made this experience even more upsetting was noticing how differently other tables, particularly those of the same ethnicity as the waitress, were treated. They received warm interactions, refills, and attention, while we were ignored—our drinks were never refilled once. My 13-year-old daughter witnessed this treatment, and it was disheartening for her first experience seeing such behavior.

The manager eventually noticed the lack of service and tried to step in, offering a birthday dessert as a gesture. However, after a long wait, we saw the dessert delivered to another table the waitress clearly favored, while we were left waiting.

At that point, we decided to leave. What was supposed to be a joyful family dinner turned into an upsetting and awkward evening that felt rooted in bias.

We will not be returning to this restaurant or this chain, as we cannot support or subject our family to such negative and discriminatory...

1st time on Saturday...put us on the wait list 40 minutes before arriving at the restaurant. Checked in at the front desk... People were waiting and the line was long. The young girl said our table should be ready in 10 minutes...we waited 30 mjnutes..then my phone vibrates. So I let them know we were ready and she proceeded to tell me they just checked me in! I Said Oh No..I had already checked in 30 minutes ago by another young lady...I was livid! The check in was chaos!( The Manager realizing her front staff isn't handling the patrons very well...seats us at a table within 10 more minutes.

We were seated and greeted with a smile from Gabby...she was delightful and helped make our visit so much better. She got our order correct and made sure to follow up with us. She have excellent service and I d rate her 10.

I ordered the 9 oz Filet...perfectly cooked..super tender...but seasoning just a tad salty... I would definitely recommend.

My husband had th Lamb chops and he said it was excellent 👌 The baked potatoes soft flakey and perfectly cooked.

Dessert was the cheesecake...soooo good! Drizzle with Carmel and pecans Creamy rich and delicious 😋 Thanks Gabby for the recommendation!

Hopefully next time the wait process will be more streamlined.
