My wife and I went to eat dinner on a week night. We were seated promptly, however, we waited over ten minutes before anyone came to our table. When someone did approach us, she asked if we’d been taken care of. When we told her we had not, she let us know someone would be right with us. Hello??? The decent thing to do would have been to apologize and ask if she could go ahead and get us something to drink, right?? But no.. she promptly continued back to the front to stand around and chit chat with the other 5 girls that were standing there doing nothing (literally, just chit chatting, laughing and carrying on…being unproductive, and snobby), while two waitresses worked the floor. It was a joke. Needless to say, after watching this circus for another 8-10 minutes, we decided to leave.
We had eaten in once before and thought the food was “decent”, but overpriced. We were not going to complain because we are grateful to welcome The Pond House to reopen and try again in Metter. Our choices are limited. So we gave it another shot with take out, which was ridiculously overpriced at nearly $75 for a chicken finger basket, shrimp basket and fish n chips basket. 🫨. But, ok.. you pay for convenience, I suppose.
This last visit sealed the deal. I watched who I’m assuming was the owner. He seems nice enough and I credit him for trying to make a go of it. The place looks great. The idea he’s going with is great. Shrimp n grits? Heck yea!! I’m not even as concerned about the price as long as the service, quality and quantity are all in line as well.
So far, the quality of the food has been good, but not exceptional. The quantity has not been great for the price. And most importantly, the customer service from the staff has been horrible EVERY…SINGLE…TIME.
Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time and money. Go ahead and head on over to Papa Buck’s for some good treats or El Mariachi for quick service and good...
Read moreStopped in for dinner after traveling, been past this place several times before but never had time to stop. Went for dinner on a Friday night around 7pm, wasn’t particularly busy. Wife’s food was ok but took almost an hour to get our order and no refills while we waited. The chicken wings I ordered were the absolute smallest wings I had ever seen, Smaller than a toothpick. Waitress forgot the fries then said I didn’t order any. Yes I did you just didn’t hear me over the awful singer at the bar attempting to sing a song. Nevermind don’t worry about the fries, I don’t want to wait another 30 minutes on my food. Way overpriced and I won’t go back. Every time I pass this place I’ll remember the sorry service and pathetic...
Read moreThe atmosphere and decore are decent. Wait staff seem to be getting better.
To me the food is lacking when compared to other local establishments. Its $15 dollars for a burger. It was a decent burger but not worth the money to me. No kids menu so its $12 for a chicken finger for my six year old.
We tried the wings at .50 a piece and they were tiny and cooked about 20 minutes to long.
I hope the owners adjust some things and add some options to the menu because Metter needs more good food options but also at reasonable prices.
Well be back in a month to see if...
