I hate to leave bad reviews, but as a former jersey mike’s employee & a regular customer, I can say from first hand experience that what I went through today was completely unacceptable. I had made a call in order for a #42 with no onions/peppers, & a few additional toppings to my sandwich. They told me the wait would be 20 minutes so I did some running around & showed up 30 minutes later. My order wasn’t even started, and the store was not busy at all. The employees working there told me that they’d start making the order right away as I told them that I would have to leave again & come back. Now normally at the Jersey mike’s I worked at, call in/ online orders received a slight priority to in store orders as people ordering online usually have somewhere else to be. But this is obviously not the case at this location because not only was my order STILL NOT STARTED after I returned 10-15 minutes later, they continued to make excuses that didn’t even make sense. The only thing that prevented me from losing my temper at that moment was them attempting to accommodate me by making my sub a large instead of a regular but as I leave I realize that not only were there onions/peppers on my sandwich (which i requested off) but they didn’t make any of the additions I requested. It seems that their staff isn’t trained properly at all or just are incompetent as a whole because I can assure you, at the previous location I worked at, employees would’ve been fired these types of mistakes. and this is not the first time my order has been late/wrong at this location. After a long day at work or whatever else people got going on with their lives, the last thing a customer wants is for their food to be messed with....
Read more2/27/21 appx 8pm. We were asked to wait about 5 minutes for the place to catch up making sandwiches as we were told by middle age guy lots of ink. We placed an order for 2 veggie sandwiches no cheese. Explained that we were both vegan He tried to sell us on a press made with parmigiana cheese because he had to walk to the back to get 1 loaf of white bread.(strike one) He placed the loaf on a bunch of leftover roast beef (strike 2). He then told us that the person next to him would be happy to help with the vegetable selection. He slid the bread across roast beef ham and turkey from the subs we waited for him to make before taking our order (strike three). He stops sliding the bread and it ends up in a puddle of liquid (I assume oil or water still gross and not what I’d like my bread dipped in). (Strike 4)The next kid gets our bread picks it up and literally stares at it for 1-2 minutes. I don’t know if he was stoned or what. I should have video taped it. It was like he was just seeing bread for the first time in his life and his job is to make sandwiches. It was unreal. He kept asking the first guy what should he do with this. Read moreThe food is fresh, but the order was wrong. Somehow the first worker mixed up my son's no. 13 with my no. 7, but with the correct toppings. So I had his meat on my sandwich with sweet peppers on my rosemary bread and he had my meat with mayo on his regular bread. Fine. I don't eat mayo. We can switch meat, no problem. Almost $18. Fine. Mistakes happen, even though he clearly gave his order first.
Seriously, it was fine. I've had jobs in restaurants before. Mistakes happen. But to add insult to injury, after my 11 year old pointed out the mistake at the register I wasn't going to have him redo it and i said, Oh well, we'll just switch the meat when we get home, but the guy on the register points out that before I swipe my card, the card reader will ask a question...(which was if i wanted to leave a tip.) He stood there watching if i would leave a tip, which was uncomfortable and annoying seeing as I already wasn't pleased with the service. And also, i can read. If I want to leave a tip, I'll leave a tip. He really doesn't need to point it out.
