Like many restaurants on Lincoln Road, La Cerveceria is overpriced and mostly for tourists. The outdoor decor is lovely, service by your host and one of the waitresses was excellent, but our waitress needs an attitude adjustment. The outdoor seating looks lovely and inviting, but we were hot and sat inside. The waitress asked us if we wanted water, and we said yes. She brought us Aqua Panna in the bottle. She insisted she said "Do you want bottle water." Then for the rest of the lunch we were not offered any more water. That is number one in service is attentiveness. She also never asked us if we wanted another drink. I ordered the Tacos Al Pastor - the pork seemed like ground pork, not big chunks of partially burnt pork shoulder like I'm used to in an Al Pastor. The tacos were supposed to come with an avocado crema, but that was missing. When I asked the waitress for the avocado cream, she said it wasn't supposed to come with it and ran to go look at the menu. She came back and insisted it was on the bottom of the taco...it wasn't, so they brought me a small side of it. I did eat all the tacos because I was hungry, but they tasted just okay...the meat because it seemed like ground pork had a weird texture. My friend ordered the Chilaquiles. It came with Tortilla chips instead of tortillas, like the menu said and had very little cheese on it. There was also an odd garbage/rotten fish smell coming from the back (bathroom, alley, kitchen, fridge?) The manager was nice and gave us 10% off, but honestly that wasn't a lot, since they had added the tip already. Management - please take my advice and fix the menu, it can be so much better. The flavors of the taco were good. All of the sauces/salsas were good. The corn tortillas were good. It was obvious all of the vegetables/pineapple were fresh and flavorful, it was just the texture of the meat. If you want to last you have to cater to both tourists and locals but having excellent food...
Read moreLast night my boyfriend and I decided to have dinner here and we were EXTREMELY disappointed. The food was bad, cold and unnecessarily expensive. $15 for guacamole but no salsa or pico de gallo included , I had order that on the side. $22 for 3 tiny tacos that again came with no salsa or pico, but it did come with extremely cold black beans that had a rancid taste and very salty rice. My boyfriends burger bun was soggy and the lettuce and tomato was added as if it were a forgotten thought.
We would have shared with our waiter except that she was gone. MIA. We waited to ask for another bun but she never appeared. My bf and made the best out of it, I ate guacamole, a taco and he ate the meat from his burger and a taco. That’s as much as could salvage.
We had to ask the host for our bill because still… no server. The host is also the one who brought our bill. Our server appeared to take our payment ( wow great timing) and asked us how was the food, and I told her it was bad. She seemed surprised and just stared at us. She said she can “ try to get her manager to help” and my bf and I just repeated we wanted to pay and leave.
We both live on the beach and often like to sit on Lincoln road and eat. We are not tourist. Our money isn’t a one time appearance on Lincoln road but it will be ath La Cerveceria.
Oh, let’s not forget the 20% service charge that is automatically...
Read moreFrom first impression this restaurant looks cool and the reviews seemed promising. To my dismay, the food left much to be desired. I ordered grilled shrimp tacos, they are overpriced at $20 for 3 tacos that only have 2 pieces of shrimp in it. Also got chicken flautas which were dry and had no seasoning. The guacamole that comes with them is bland. The worst thing I ever tasted was the beans and rice that comes with the tacos. I can’t exactly describe the taste but it taste like the beans went bad and when I say “beans” I mean a purée of black beans, normally known as refried beans. When I sat down I asked for water because they don’t have one of the most important ingredients for micheladas which is the chamoy. $14 for a below average drink is honestly a rip off. I asked for limes 4 times, 2 times to the same waitress attending me and another 2 to 2 different workers. I ended up walking to the bar and taking the lives myself from the counter in the open jar that they keep the limes in, if I didn’t care I could have reached in there directly and that would be terrible for anyone that used them afterward. Honestly I’ve been to many disappointing places and this made the top 2. If you’re reading this review or glanced DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE. A squirrel jumped on the table and it didn’t even wanna eat the food, I found...
