We were group of five friends saying in Fountainblue over the weekend and at first glance Vida looked nice place to have breakfast. So we walked in and host informed us that we will be seated in 15 min which really happened in 15-20 minutes. Our server, he did not look very willing to help us with questions but we noticed that his English was limited and we thought he was stressed and did not want to talk and that was fine. After 20 min he bought coffee pitcher we ordered, while pouring coffee one of the mugs started leaking and before he removed the mug little coffee puddle created on the table. He took the leaking mug, brought new mug and put it directly in the coffee puddle. Meanwhile spill from the table start dripping on the floor. When I realised he was not going to clean up the spill I asked him directly to clean up and also to bring extra coffee to substitute the one in the broken mug. He looked at me unhappy and responded I will be back. After 15 min our dripping table was still dripping and one of us was still waiting for the extra coffee that was spilled on the table. Meanwhile he was taking ordered from other customers and counting receipts at the register. I walked to him, already pretty upset, to ask for coffee and clean up our wet table. Believe or not he seemed very upset too, saying he was busy with other customers. We asked to change the server hoping that we could just continue our breakfast peacefully. Meanwhile manager came to our table to apologise and we understood “things happens”and we are all happy. What happened next is worst than anything I have ever experienced!!! Three of us ordered Salmon Benedict and when order came it was Ham Benedict. Once again, we though “things happens” and we asked them to change. In 10 minutes they brought Salmon Benedict but guess what ?!!! They picked ham out of the previous order and replaced with salmon. We still had big chunks of ham in the sandwich!! NOW THAT THINGS DO NOT HAPPEN !!!! It is disrespectful and many levels wrong! Manager apologised and offered other food but I could not eat there any more. This is the place where kitchen “refreshes” and reuses returned food! Not that food quality mattered after what they did but I will anyway attach picture of my Egg Benedict. Anyone who have once ate this dish will know how...
Read moreI came twice. I must say all the waiters and waitresses are really nice and friendly. First time I had a Winter Kale Salad which is make with But squash, quinoa, tosted almonds, pome granate seeds, whole grain citrus dressing and I added grilled salmon. First the brought me the salad with chicken when all my friends had their food. Then I had the right one and I started to eat it but it was totally bland…. I ask to the waiter and he said the dressing is in the bottom. I mixed and still the same. I realized didn’t come with dressing. He brought a cup with dressing. The kale was full of big stains (in the kitchen didn’t prepare it. From 5 I can rated it as a 0.5. Next day I ordered as an appetizer a tomate soup and it was good and as a entree GRILLED FAROE ISLAND SALMON* cauliflower puree, baby kale, bacon spicy honey & orange glaze. The cauliflower was cream…?a really small portion with just literally two small chunks of cauliflower. The salmon taste was “ok” nothing special. As a dessert we share a BANANA STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING banana cake, toffee sauce, vanilla ice cream which was good but they didn’t warm it. One day the cappuccino was good and on the 2nd...
Read moreVida is one of those restaurants that looks a lot better than it tastes. Located inside the iconic Fontainebleau, it gives off the polished, upscale vibe you’d expect—but once you sit down and start eating, it’s clear the experience is more form than substance.
I came here for the buffet, which was… okay. They had a decent spread: scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, pastries, some fruit, and a few other staples. Everything looked nice on the surface, but most of it tasted just average. The eggs were a bit runny, the bacon wasn’t particularly crispy, and the pastries felt like they came out of a hotel catering freezer rather than a fresh bakery. Nothing was bad, just not memorable—especially considering the price.
Service was professional but not especially warm or engaging. They got the job done, but there wasn’t that personal touch or energy you’d hope for at a resort like this.
All in all, Vida is fine if you’re staying at the hotel and want something convenient without venturing out. But if you’re expecting something that stands out or competes with Miami’s food scene, this isn’t it. Definitely a case of “you’re paying for...
