I am a huge fan of acai bowls and was thrilled to find Acai Express nearby with excellent reviews. Located on Main Street, it is easy to find parking on the street or in one of the nearby lots. The store is spotless, with plenty of outlets for working with both indoor and outdoor seating. The young ladies behind the counter were friendly. I chose a large Valentine Bowl, which included acai, coconut oil, granola, banana, nutella, strawberry, and coconut flakes. I also added peanut butter. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. However, I thought I was missing the acai. So I went back inside to ask one of the workers. She explained that it was present, but it was more like an acai shaved ice than blended acai. I've never heard of acai shaved ice, despite the fact that I've ordered numerous acai bowls. I enjoyed the Valentine Bowl, but I really missed the blended acai, which I would have to request next time or order a different type of bowl altogether.

My recent experience at Açaí Express left much to be desired. Despite being a loyal customer who frequents the establishment multiple times a week, I was sorely disappointed. The açaí bowls were severely lacking in açaí, with an excessive amount of granola overpowering the taste. When I requested a bit more açaí to balance it out, I was astonished to be met with an additional charge. Apparently, my $10 only buys a ticket to the granola party, not the açai bowl experience I signed up for. To add insult to injury, after being charged $1.50 for peanut butter, I asked for a bit more as it was barely a scoop they wanted to charge me yet another $1.50. This blatant nickel-and-diming of loyal customers is unacceptable. To top it off, the bananas they use are often rotten, making them barely edible. As someone who has supported Açaí Express regularly, I expected better treatment and quality. This experience has left me reconsidering my loyalty to the establishment.

this place has negative reviews for a reason. I ordered a total of 3 Acai bowls. They messed up one of them and when I brought it to her attention she proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and that I had ordered something else even though it was clear what I had ordered to her on the receipt. I noticed that she removed the toppings off of the bowl and proceeded to use it for another customers order …. We returned one of the bowls because the acai paste didn’t taste good and the employee proceeds to grab the spoon and TRY THE ACAI FROM MY BOWL. That’s extremely disgusting, unprofessional and uncalled for. She also proceeded to tell me that the Acai tastes how it normally tastes. This hasn’t been my first or second bad experience at this restaurant but this will definitely be the last. This place just lost a whole group of potential customers. Please teach your employees to do better and deal accordingly with customers whenever issues come up.

I believe it is essential to recognize and appreciate exceptional individuals who go above and beyond their responsibilities. Valerie is truly an amazing employee who deserves recognition for her remarkable contributions.

Valerie's commitment to her job is evident in every interaction I have had with her. Her warm and welcoming demeanor creates a friendly and inviting atmosphere for customers, making every visit to Acai Express a delightful experience. She possesses a remarkable ability to anticipate customer needs and is always ready to provide assistance and guidance with a smile.

What sets Valerie apart is her genuine passion for her work. Her extensive knowledge of the menu and ingredients allows her to make insightful recommendations tailored to individual preferences. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, Valerie's enthusiasm for the products she serves is infectious, making it impossible not to try something new or exciting.

In addition to her exceptional customer service skills, Valerie displays impeccable attention to detail. She ensures that each order is prepared to perfection, paying careful attention to dietary restrictions and personal preferences. Valerie's dedication to quality and consistency makes her an invaluable asset to the team at Acai Express.

Beyond her professional abilities, Valerie's positive attitude and uplifting energy create a welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues. Her kindness and empathy shine through in every interaction, making her a pleasure to be around. She is always ready to lend a helping hand and offers support to her teammates, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie within the workplace.

I’ve been supporting this business for almost 2 years, but I was very displeased with my most recent visit on Saturday 09/27/2025 between 1PM and 2PM. I ordered a regular build-your-own (acai/coconut). Aside from the 6 toppings, I always get coconut oil. Sometimes they charge me, sometimes they don’t, and I don’t mind paying the extra fee when they do. This time I paid for it. I like my coconut oil put on top of the base before the second serving of granola, and then again on top after the toppings. When my bowl was almost done, I asked for a little more hemp seeds and for coconut oil on top, just like I always do. The young lady (white female, black and blonde curly hair, glasses) told me I would have to pay another $1 for more coconut oil. I had already paid extra, so I thought it was ridiculous for her to ask for more money just for another squirt. She said, “we have to pay for the oil,” and I cut her off, telling her she’s not the owner, just an employee. She then asked why I was yelling at her. I wasn’t yelling. My voice was a little louder than before, but I wasn’t disrespectful. I told her if she didn’t like my tone, she could just say that. She then told me, “this is embarrassing.” I asked her what’s embarrassing, and she said, “I’m embarrassed for YOU.” I told her there’s nothing to be embarrassed about because I didn’t curse at her or say anything out of line. She then said, “you’re doing all this for coconut oil.” I told her yes, I am. I paid for it, and I expect to receive what I paid for. She still insisted I pay extra for another serving. I told her just give me my bowl so I can go. She stood there staring at me like she didn’t want to hand it over. A young man had to step in and give me my bowl and a bag. They usually don’t measure coconut oil so strictly, and if they did, I would’ve just asked her to split the serving from the start so I could have some on the base and some on top. This whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. This isn’t the first time I’ve had an issue with one of the female employees. Honestly, I’m starting to feel like some of them have a problem with Black customers. Their customer service sucks, and after this, I told myself I won’t be...

When Acai Express first opened, it was fresh and new to Miami Lakes. It was alright the first few time and had potential. But a quick turn came. It all started when they ran out of out regular granola, and they couldn't keep up with their vendors to meet supply for their customers. Instead the only option was this poor quality "blueberry" artificially flavored granola that just isn't it. Honestly, I had high hopes for this place, but just recently I went to purchase a bowl and they told me I couldn't change a topping for another topping without adding $1 for each topping. This is absolutely ridiculous. They have the customize bowl option, but I don't even see how that works with this ridiculous rule of charging $1 per topping. The owner was very nice in the beginning but if she wants to keep her Miami Lakes customers happy she better rethink her marketing and pricing strategies. Also, the employees add way too much coconut oil to the granola and it sticks together in clumps. It's gross. Goodluck.

P.S. to the owner, I could not reply to your response on Google so here it is as an edit. Your staff was not offering any solutions instead they just told me I couldn't change any toppings. They didn't even suggest the customize bowl even though I knew it was an option. I wasn't adding an ingredient, I was replacing. The bowl still would've been under 6 toppings. Didn't make any sense. Essentially I was customizing a bowl, but they didn't understand or offer to just charge me a custom bowl price. Please train your staff to be aware of the menu options to provide to...
