We have been to Ahi Sushi 3 times in the last 2 months, twice for omakase and once a la carte. The omakase sessions were superb, with a mix of standard and creative dishes, well prepared and nicely plated, and all of the fish was of excellent quality. At $80/pp for 9 to 10 courses it's not cheap, but is good value, and we eat a lot of Japanese food and I can confidently say you won't find better for less in Miami. The a la carte menu is very basic, so if there's something specific you want, you should ask for it. The chef will happily take requests off-menu if he has the ingredients on hand, and if he doesn't, will suggest an alternative. If just want basic rolls you can get them cheaper elsewhere, although they probably won't be quite as good.

The place is tiny, with 6 seats and 2 more in a pinch. There is one chef and one host/server who have been the same each time we visited. They are personable and good at taking cues, so if you want to eat in silence you can, or vice versa. Lastly, they are BYOB with no corkage fee and it sounds like there are no plans to get a liquor license. We like that because we're happy to bring our own and save the money, but if you forget there are a few different wine/beer/liquor stores nearby...

Way way waaaaaaaay over priced. First of all, NOT an authentic Japanese sushi. Owned by rude Korean.... but doesnt matter if he is accomodating customers and makes good sushi. The chef/ owner is NOT accomodating, when we had a request to make our Tekka Maki with seaweed outside, he told us to order what is in the menu, and he seem very annoyed. He is not a good chef to be in the front to service customers, but may be goos to just work in grocery store corner sushi where he does not have to interact with customers. Not recommended at all. Not coming back here ever again. Two...

A Calle Ocho Gem 💎! Ahi Sushi is amazing! We’re local and we’ve passed by it many times but tonight, we finally got a chance to dine. Brian is an incredible sushi chef and he prepared us a personalized menu with different sashimi options. The fish was super fresh and the saki was divine. It’s a very intimate setting, big enough for 5-6 people. So we appreciated chatting with Brian and seeing him work his magic. That in itself was part of the overall experience. So don’t miss out on this very unique space in the middle of the craziness...

First, we discovered the best street Thai food outside of Thailand at "Lung Thai Tapas." Then popped into Ahi Sushi bar and were blown away by the sushi and service. Neither of which I expected to find on Calle Ocho. Jackpot! I had the basic Omakase. Outstanding. I cannot wait to go back and sample their more sophisticated Omakase offerings. This place is small. The quality and taste are BIG, as are Brian's (Chef) and Kathy's (Manageress) personalities. Call to check availability. Open Table has incorrectly been showing they're fully booked.

C- | Slightly overpriced and the quality is lackluster, they charge $1.50 for spicy mayo that doesn't come with any items on the menu. I paid $23 for 8 pieces and two sashimi. There's places with much better quality for cheaper and more quantity. This is one of the few places I wouldn't recommend. I've been to almost every Asian place in Miami now, so the guage is pretty accurate
