I’ve been coming here since I was 12 years old. I’m now 26. As young boy, my mother and I usually came for lunch or dinner. I would always order a pallomilla steak with a side sweet plantains and French fries or white rice and black beans. My mother for years always ordered the grilled chicken breast, which is now my wife’s favorite dish. When my mother became bed bound due to an illness we started doing take-out. There take out service is phenomenal. The women who run this place do a great job of making sure there is always utensils, napkins, and anything else you asked for. During this time, my mother ordered a lot of breakfast and soups. She would mainly get the chicken soup which is amazing. Very flavorful. Which made it easier for my mother to eat during a time that she was battling cancer. Now, I come here for breakfast almost 3 times a week in the early mornings for breakfast. For just $5.00 you can get a very filling breakfast. I’m talking about the whole shebang. For $5 you get eggs cooked to order, 2 sides of your choice, tradition cafe con leche(coffee and hot milk/cream), and you get your choice between French and Cuban toastada(Bread toasted to perfection with butter.) Great for dipping into your cafe con leche. It’s highly affordable and really satisfying. If you are staying at the hotels around the airport it’s a stones throw a way. You can go for a nice walk. You can feed a family of four a really nice breakfast for around 30 bucks if you are vacationing but like to economize. The restaurant is very comfortable inside. It has many booths as well tables neatly lined in the center. The service is always excellent. The staff here are always attentive to your needs and you will always see the manager on the floor. She has been running this place since I was a boy. If you need anything she will make sure it happens and with a smile. So, for those of you visiting Miami looking for great food, great breakfast prices, and the service to match....
Read moreI was craving for Qban food and drove all the way to this restaurant or rather big cafeteria. I ordered an ajiaco soup and was served a thick kind of polenta with some meat and one piece of yuca, it did taste good but ain’t that Ajiaco. Main dish ordered was a breaded beef steak that was undercooked but oily and the topping of mojo crudo was kind of spoiled the onion and stinky parsley, the Moro rice was greasy and they used strips of beacon for the sazón that’s ain’t Qban either. The fried plantains were ok because they quantity of 4 pieces was plenty. Service was kind of subpar not once was asked if everything was okay. The waitress either was shy or didn’t care. Just asked if paying cash or CC ,when I answered CC she went to get the Feel Guilty device that gives odds percentage of tipping. I did 20% anyway. Men bathroom is located across from the kitchen and the door was opened and tied with a tape to keep it open “ that’s odd as well and disgusting. The place could use some remodeling the red decoration is cheap looking and the ceiling of the restaurant is awful dirty looking with the added white spot lights. I won’t be back to this location. I wonder most of the time why Cuban cuisine and the presentation got worst and worst in the Miami area. Everyone else is at least trying to improve or show that they care with pride except Los Cubanos de Miami. Just a few places come close to good food lately and this isn’t...
Read moreTHIS IS THE WORST RESTAURANT IN MIAMI! I'VE NEVER WRITTEN A BAD REVIEW FOR A RESTAURANT, EVER! IN FACT, I'VE NEVER WRITTEN A REVIEW, PERIOD! THE ONLY REASON I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW IS BECAUSE OF THE TERRIBLE AND DISRESPECTFUL SERVICE I RECEIVED WHEN I ORDERED FOOD TO-GO ON 9/24/2014. WHOEVER OWNS THIS PLACE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A RESTAURANT! I SIMPLY ORDERED A "VACA FRITA," WHEN MY FOOD WAS DELIVERED I RECEIVED A "ROPA VIEJA." I CALLED TO LET THEM KNOW THEY DELIVERED THE WRONG FOOD. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY REFUSED TO DELIVER ME THE RIGHT DISH. THEY TOLD ME IF I WANT THEM TO DELIVER A "VACA FRITA" THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. MY GIRLFRIEND, A CUBAN, IS THE ONE WHO PLACED THE ORDER, SO THERE WAS NO LANGUAGE BARRIER HERE. I PERSONALLY DECIDED TO TRY AND CALL THE RESTAURANT, NO ONE WOULD SPEAK TO ME IN ENGLISH. THEY HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME 3 TIMES. WHEN I FINALLY GOT SOMEONE ON THE PHONE THAT SPOKE ENGLISH, WHO HAPPENED TO BE THE MANAGER, I WAS FURIOUS, AND HE TOLD ME "FU@K YOU," AND HUNG UP THE PHONE. AT THAT POINT, MY MOTHER-IN-LAW, MY GIRLFRIENDS MOTHER, 100% CUBAN, WAS VERY UPSET THEY TREATED ME THAT WAY. SHE INSISTED THAT WE GO TO THE RESTAURANT IN PERSON. I ORDER FROM THIS PLACE ON A REGULAR BASIS, ONCE A WEEK, AND I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN! I HAVE NEVER FELT SO...
