Very limited seating however the ambiance was nice place to sit ( if a table is available) and visit while dining ( for locals). Our hostess was very slow to serve our table. Seemed to be serving everyone but us. There were 3 adults and 3 teenagers in our party. We had to ask multiple times for our drinks after ordering as they never brought them to us. We finally got our drinks then we had to wait on our food. About 20 minutes after placing our food order we received one persons food. But no one else's. The rest of our party had to wait an additional 20 minutes to get our food. We asked for refills the waitress turned and walked away never to bring the drinks back. I had to flag another server down for our drinks the first time and had to swing and throw my arms around to get the servers attention for refills as well. She seemed very put off to have to serve us. Another server brought 2 of our food orders out and the original server told her the wrong place settings and she as well seemed very irritated by our server. Probably because we had to keep getting her attention to get our drinks. I ordered a guacamole (was basically just a smashed avacado) then they charged me an additional $1.50 for chips on top of the $4.50 for the "guacamole". They also automatically charged the gratuity (I know a lot of places will when there are 6 or more on one ticket) and it's a good thing they did because I sure would not have tipped a single cent otherwise. I have worked in food service and my daughter is currently a server so I know how much these people make, that's why I believe tips should be based on service and not the number of people in a party. 10 out of 10 would not recommend to tourists. Definitely only place for locals as the attitude towards outsiders is very unbecoming of a business that wishes to stay in business.
I added a picture of only one person with food, and also note the empty drinks we had asked for refills multiple times and didn’t receive until we asked...
Read moreJesus. Wow!!! So I came in on a whim, SO LUCKY I did. I’m from Boston but spent 20 years in California, San Diego and Long Beach. I know good Mexican, I’ve traveled to El Paso, all over Texas, Arizona, everywhere. I know the best taco places in the Nation by name and they know me lol. Well, new #1! I came here on a Tuesday, always a good idea so I ordered a carne asada burrito but then i saw the couple at the bar eating perfect looking tacos, I asked them and they said they were amazing, they come here only for them. Trust locals. So, while I was waiting I got a PERFECT michelada (unreal) and got 3 street tacos for like 2 bucks!!! Seriously. Didn’t hurt that the waitress was pretty but she told me to try them and it was only $2!!! Of course I said yeah. Let me say, they were PERFECTION! I got pastor. They were, the single greatest tacos I’ve had. Soft, moist corn tortillas, the meat was juicy, little lime, onions and cilantro and I’m telling you they were insane. I will come back for sure. Luckily I was waited on by Eskey, which was to my luck. After falling in love a bit, I realized that Not only is she heartbreakingly cute but funny and friendly and fast, a really a good food service professional! Truly, solid service. After my past years in that industry I do know strong service when I see it, I watched both servers run the bar, take out, and a full restaurant as WELL as take out. Busy take out calls and orders. Strong service, great vibe but most of all best food a Mexican / Irish guy could ever have. It’s a must. Trust me. Will be back....
Read moreWith my family in town, we visited expecting authentic Mexican food based on previous reviews. Let me save you sometime by sharing my awful experience. The place was empty, and we figured it was probably just due to the holiday weekend, but no. The servers have horrible customer service; we felt as if we were speaking to a wall. She took our order and barely spoke, then proceeded to return with it and just set it on the table nonchalantly. What should have been an enjoyable time with family was awkward due to the atmosphere. They played other Latin music, and the servers constantly stared and spoke amongst themselves. We ate the food because we were hungry, but it tasted bland with no authentic Mexican flavor.
I hope it was a one-time experience, but it is by far the worst I've had locally in...
