I'd like to begin on a positive note and say that the food was delicious. The service, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired.

We were a party of four, celebrating Valentine's Day and looking forward to our first time at La Rosa Fine Cuban Cuisine Restaurant because it was recommended by a friend. Our waitress was Esther H. The problems began early on. She asked us if we were going to have any drinks, and we said that we were fine with just water. You could tell in her body language and the fact that she rolled her eyes that she disapproved. We then ordered our food. She did not like the fact that one of us ordered a well done churrasco. Her facial expressions said it all. It was a pretty busy evening, and Esther had a young lady by the name of Kerly (not sure of the spelling) assisting her. Kerly was constantly making sure that our glasses had plenty of water and asked if we needed anything else. When we finished our meal, Kerly came by to pick up our plates and we asked her about dessert. She told us all the choices we had. We went ahead and told her we wanted one flan de coco, one arroz con leche, an order of buñuelos, and two cortaditos. She went to the small table towards the kitchen where they keep the water, and we saw that Esther was speaking to her in a rude manner as if reprimanding her. We then saw Kerly leave to the ladies' room. Esther came to our table to double check the cortaditos order and check to see if we wanted sugar added to our cortaditos or not. She told us that "the girl" had told her that the cortaditos were for the two gentlemen, when actually it was for one of the gentlemen and for one of us ladies. I guess she wanted to let us know that Kerly was wrong. Shortly after, we saw Kerly go back to the table in the back and it was obvious that she had been crying.

This type of employee belittling and condescending behavior should never be allowed whether in front of customers or not. For heaven's sake, all Kerly was trying to do was to help Esther. Honestly, witnessing this type of behavior completely ruined our night and is the basis for our ONE star review. We will not be returning to your restaurant as we will never condone this type of behavior in any...

Such a shame. I have been eating in La Rosa for over 40 years. Because of work, I hadn’t been to Miami for quite some time. La Rosa used to be a favorite of mine and I recommended it to dozens of people. Food used to be authentic, perfect, with good portions for a fair price, service and atmosphere were those of a classic Cuban joint. What a disappointment it has become in most of those points. They have “remodeled it” to look like some kind of semi modern generic restaurant. The waiters they always had are gone and so are their traditional waiter attire, which should be no big deal, but it’s worth noting because it was sort of the charm of the place. The problem comes with whatever idea someone sold the owners so as to optimize profits. Some of their most popular dishes (and staples of Cuban food) like vaca frita, maduros and others are not in the menu (which now includes generic stuff like hamburgers), although, of course, the waitress will “have them made for you”. The portions are about half what they used to be, and their prices have gone waaaay above any inflation. They seem to try to make up for it, with some garnishing and decorations in their plates (like serving about 2 meagre spoonfuls of ropa vieja inside a red pepper). What used to be a wonderful, fulfilling experience, will now leave you hungry and reminiscent of the old La Rosa. They will charge 5 bucks for a small Cuban espresso. Ridiculous. They will not give you a print copy of your bill. Instead, they will bring you a machine to your table with the bill and use that trending and odious social pressure technique of displaying the tipping options in front of the whole table. Unfortunate. The experience was less than satisfactory. As it is, I will not come back to La Rosa. I will keep the old restaurant in my memories and will definitely not recommend it anymore. At least we still have La Carreta for Cuban food. La Rosa used to be better than the later. It is...

A Flavorful Journey at La Rosa Fine Cuban Cuisine: Embracing Culinary Excellence

Nestled in the heart of Miami, La Rosa Fine Cuban Cuisine beckons with the promise of a culinary odyssey that celebrates the rich tapestry of Cuban flavors. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to a world where every dish is a tribute to tradition and innovation.

The allure of La Rosa extends beyond its delectable menu, as the restaurant offers an array of special offers that add an extra layer of delight to the dining experience. The "Taste of Cuba" sampler, a symphony of authentic Cuban dishes that showcase the culinary heritage of the island, was a true masterpiece. Each bite was a tantalizing exploration of flavors, a journey through the vibrant palette of Cuban cuisine that left me in awe.

Amidst this gastronomic delight, one waitress, Elena, emerged as a shining star of exceptional service. From the moment she greeted us, Elena's genuine warmth and attentiveness created an ambiance of comfort and excitement. Her mastery of the menu was evident as she guided us through the offerings, sharing insights into the unique combinations that make each dish a work of art. Elena's impeccable timing and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit, making us feel like cherished guests.

La Rosa Fine Cuban Cuisine is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of flavors, a journey through the heart of Cuban culinary heritage. The fusion of special offers and the exceptional service embodied by Elena creates an atmosphere that is both inviting and invigorating. Whether you're a connoisseur of Cuban cuisine or a curious diner seeking new taste sensations, La Rosa promises a dining experience that will transport your senses and leave you yearning for more of its...

THE FIRST CUBAN RESTAURANT IN MIAMI, WITH THE SOUL OF 1960s HAVANA I am an Australian, but a frequent visitor to both Miami and Havana, involved in both places as a Professor of Medicine and a Lecturer in Anthropology. I left Havana in 2023, and today was the first time I truly savored the kind of Cuban cuisine I had grown used to in La Habana—a few notches higher in elegance and sophistication than most Cuban-American restaurants in Miami. I was transported back to the many dinners and long conversations in the halls of Havana, and I deeply enjoyed the nostalgia evoked by the cuisine of 1960s Cuba. This cherished culinary tradition is kept alive at La Rosa Restaurant, founded in 1968 by people from the province of Matanzas. I don’t think you’ll find malanga soup with such refined taste anywhere else. I had the grilled fish, and my companion enjoyed vaca frita after his salad. And how can a Cuban meal be complete without Caviar Cubano—frijoles negros, the black beans? I closed my eyes while sipping the black bean soup and could feel the breeze from the Malecón (my apartment was near the Malecón). The dessert took us both by surprise. I had Cuban natilla, reminiscent of crema catalana or crème brûlée—every morsel was delicious. My companion had arroz con leche, a melt-in-the-mouth kind of delight. My stomach was satisfied, my mind coated in the warm nostalgia of my recent life in Havana, and I felt spiritually connected to the rich history of that island just south of here. You will always be in my heart.

I can't believe I've never been here before because this place is one of the oldest Cuban restaurants in South Miami by MIA. It has a lot of history since they have been open since 1968 but don't be discouraged by its age because the space is updated and modern. The food is refined Cuban classics accompanied by craft cocktails. We started with the Empanadas de Rabo (oxtail) and these were bursting with flavor and piping hot. The out shell was perfectly crisp too. We also go the Pulpo La Rosa which was also perfectly cooked. Not rubbery. For the main entrees, we ordered the Tob Sirloin Butt and the Cordero al Vino Both were impressive. The steak was nicely grilled and the lamb shank was fall of the bone. Both were juicy too. If I was to choose my fave, I'll go for the Lamb Shank again. For dessert, we opted for the Crema Catalana which was a Cuban-style Creme Brulee. Dam it was very delicious. Not too sweet and the caramelized top was crunchy. A perfect ending to a satisfying dinner. Also, we ordered a couple of rounds of drinks. I got the old-fashioned and my friend got the blueberry mojito. Trust me, you will be impressed by the presentation as they served both smoked inside a glass dome. Love this place from the service, and ambiance to the high-quality food. This is a great spot for a celebration with friends or family or even a romantic date. It truly rivals super high-end restaurants and you dont have to spend an arm and a leg. Just bring your appetite :)

La Rosa Restaurant is a true gem in Miami. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The service here is fantastic – the staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need. Let’s talk about the food. I started with the Papas Rellenas de Carne, which were crispy on the outside and filled with deliciously seasoned meat. They were absolutely amazing. The garlic shrimp with piquillo peppers sauce and grilled ciabatta bread was another standout – the flavors were incredible and perfectly balanced. And the Tostones? Perfectly fried and so addictive. For the main course, I went with the Ropa Vieja. It was tender, juicy, and packed with authentic Cuban flavors. To top it all off, I enjoyed a Classic Margarita that was just right – not too sweet, not too strong, just perfect. The ambiance of La Rosa is vibrant and cozy, making it a great spot for any occasion, whether it’s a casual dinner or a special night out. The combination of amazing food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment makes La Rosa Restaurant a standout choice in Miami. I’d definitely come back for more – it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Cuban cuisine. La Rosa Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommended!
