Read moreSome time ago I visited Crema in Brickell rather frequently, few times per week in the evening, food and service was always great. Few months ago my experience became worse since sometimes bar staff brought my "dine in" orders in a plastic containers due to some constant issues with dish wash machines. I realized that staff brings my food in plastic only when specific lady is on duty, in other days when this lady was not on duty food was always brought in normal ceramic plates without any issues. This case happened again yesterday (July 14, 2023). I came to Crema Brickell at around 7 PM (2 hours before closing) with my wife and we made a dine in order. Then my wife Acai Bowl was brought in plastic container by mentioned above lady without any in advance notice, and again she said that food is in plastic because of dish wash machine issues, but if we want she can put Acai bowl in a normal plate, she wasn't able to explain why kitchen staff didn't put acai bowl in a normal plate in a kitchen if it was still an option. We asked this lady her name to write this feedback, she said that her name is Beri which is a short form of Beatrice, I don't know if it is her real name but yesterday she was dressed in a dark shirt with long hair put in a braid, as I understand she is a manager or some senior staff member.
I think that Beri (Beatrice) constantly lies about issues with wash machine because nobody else from bar staff mention these issues when Beri is not on duty. I think her intention is to have less dirty ceramic plates before end of her duty, so she and/or kitchen staff can go home as earlier as possible. I find such behavior as disrespectful to bar clients, when people make dine in orders they expect to drink and eat from normal cups and plates, this is how it works in all restaurants, but not in Crema Brickell when...
Read moreThis self-dubbed “Espresso Bar” was a super cute location. There was a decent amount of seating inside (if you don’t mind being a little close to your neighbors) but they do have quite a bit more outdoor seating.
We were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to walk over. It took us about 5 minutes and I’m glad we chose this location, as opposed to the hotel breakfast restaurant.
The Espresso Bar was fairly busy when we arrived, but it only took a few minutes to receive our drinks and then just a few more for our food.
I ordered the “open face” breakfast sandwich which was a lot of food! It was definitely more than you would get if you ordered a “regular” breakfast sandwich most anywhere else. The eggs were delicious and still had semi-runny yoke - just the way I like it. The bacon was perfectly somewhere between too crunchy and too soft. The sliced baguette underneath was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. And last but certainly not least, the aioli hidden between the toppings and the baguette was the best part. After the first bite with the aioli, (it unfortunately wasn’t distributed as much as I would have liked) I kept wanting more. There was a decent amount on the sandwich, it was simply congregated more so on one side than evenly spread all over.
For drink I got freshly squeezed orange juice - as one should in Florida - and it was every bit delicious as I wanted it to be. There’s just something about fresh orange juice that tastes like liquid sunshine and makes the day a bit brighter.
So, if you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend trying Crema Gourmet...
