A Culinary Treasure in Brickell If you’re looking for a dining experience that blends historical charm, culinary creativity, and a vibrant atmosphere, Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita should be at the top of your list. Nestled in a beautifully restored 1923 firehouse, this restaurant offers an experience that goes beyond just food—it’s an immersion into ambiance, flavor, and service. Ambiance and Atmosphere From the moment you step in, the unique architecture of this historic building sets the tone. The restaurant’s two levels offer distinct vibes. The indoor dining area is sleek and modern, with crisp white decor, candlelight, and floral arrangements creating an intimate, sophisticated setting. However, the crown jewel is the rooftop terrace. With plush couches and a panoramic view of the Miami skyline, the rooftop is perfect for romantic dates or celebrating special occasions. Dining here at sunset, with the city lights twinkling in the background, is nothing short of magical. The Menu – A Fusion of Flavors Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita offers a thoughtful and diverse menu that caters to a variety of tastes. A standout feature of their menu is that many entrées include a complimentary appetizer, adding an element of value to the dining experience. Appetizers I started with the Ham Croquettes, presented in a playful egg carton. Each bite was packed with flavor, and while they were slightly moist for my taste, the balance of creamy and savory notes made them a delightful start. The Cornbread was another standout—a warm, buttery treat that paired beautifully with the accompanying honey drizzle. Main Courses For the main course, I chose the Churrasco. The skirt steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and seasoned with just the right amount of spices. It was served with a side of chimichurri sauce that added a fresh, zesty kick. My companion opted for the Braised Steak Brasatto, and it was equally impressive. The rich marsala mushroom sauce was a perfect complement to the tender meat, while the garbanzo stew added a hearty touch to the dish. Desserts To end the meal, we indulged in the Message in a Bottle dessert. This interactive dish allowed us to customize a brownie with various toppings—a playful and delicious conclusion to a wonderful meal. Service – Attentive and Friendly The service at Dolores was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and ensured that our drinks were always topped up. Despite the restaurant being busy, we never felt rushed or overlooked. Their warmth and professionalism added to the overall experience. Overall Experience Dining at Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita is about more than just the food—it’s an experience that combines stellar cuisine, exceptional service, and a setting that’s both charming and chic. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, catching up with friends, or simply treating yourself to a great meal, this restaurant delivers on every front. I left with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a strong desire to return. If you’re in Miami, this is a must-visit destination that showcases the best of what the city has to offer.

I have mixed feelings about Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita. I am going to write a very honest review of our experience. It started off very rocky in my opinion. We had a party of (9) people including my two sons, the youngest being only 9 years old. My family was in town from Costa Rica and my sister-in-law was here with her boyfriend who owns two restaurants there. We spent the day showing them Bayside, Wynwood, the Design District, and finally ended our day Downtown/Brickell. We had a reservation for 6:15 and arrived on time but it wasn't ready yet, so we were told to go upstairs and maybe have a drink while it was getting set up ..not a problem. The issue was that we were all ordering drinks while standing at the end of the bar, when one of the bartenders came over to us very abruptly and told us that my 9 year old son could not be six feet away from the bar. He was not sitting at a chair, nor was he touching the bar in any way. He was standing behind me with his other family members while we tried to order drinks. I was told this was not good enough and that he had to go to a table away from the bar by himself. This was completely unacceptable in my eyes! I'm not going to tell my child to go sit and stay as if he were a dog that I am tying up to a table. To make it worse they actually had a dog at the bar that night, so my son was treated worse than that. Being a dog owner, I don't have issues with pets but I do have an issue with the way my son was treated. With that being said, I went and found the manager Armando, who was extremely apologetic. He reassured me that this was not acceptable and that he would take care of it with his staff. Luckily, he set our table up with his BEST server available that night. She was amazing! Honestly, the way we were taken care of after the incident was top notch. It changed my feelings about the restaurant overall, or else the rating would have been much lower. The food was good in some respects and not my personal preference in others. For instance, the croquettes were not my particular style. My best friend has a family run Cuban restaurant in Hialeah that makes over 3,000 hand rolled croquettes daily. I like my croquettes more firm and not completely mushy and falling apart when you go to eat them, again it is my personal preference. The cornbread was delicious and the main entrees were enjoyable as well, at least the ones we had ordered. I feel if you are going to label your chocolate cake "the best in the world," then it better live up to the hype. It just didn't do that for any of us at the table and ultimately we did not even finish the cake 😢 I do want to say the place has a great vibe honestly. We enjoyed ourselves immensely once we got to the table and enjoyed the girl going around taking pictures. We even purchased some and then asked her to come back and take more before we left... that we also purchased. It started out rocky but Armando and our server made it an enjoyable experience overall. I would come back again, just not with any of my kids.

Dolores but You Can Call Me Lolita is easily one of the must-visit establishments for eating in Brickell with history, ambience and truly good food. The establishment is located in an old fire house, some of its features such as the lockers for firemen as well as the fire pole have been retained, making a novel setting within which people eat. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating though I quite advise on the inside seating due to the high Miami temperatures and the lively, loud, DJ music outside. The interior provides a more comfortable and intimate atmosphere. Our meal commenced with two remarkable starters, the first one being the Serrano Ham Croquettes which were deep fried to golden brown with a crispy crust outside to the touch and creamy texture inside. The second is the Mexican Oxtail Tacos which were incredibly rich in flavor. Both these starters were in some ways over the top – quite simply setting the stage for what was to be an absolutely memorable dining experience. For the main course, the shrimp Porcini Mushroom Tortellini with shrimp was a great combination of earthy and fresh flavors, while sweet-and-sour harmony was evident in the Caramelized Toro Salmon Stir-Fry. The servings were huge, and each morsel reflected the chef’s hard work and perfectionism. The cocktails were equally impressive—refreshing and well-balanced. The Passion Mule and Lovers Lane Lemonade both offered a perfect harmony of flavors, making them ideal companions to the meal. Service was impeccable, with special thanks to Temis, whose friendly demeanor and expert recommendations elevated our experience. She not only guided us through the menu but also shared fascinating insights about the restaurant’s history. For those unfamiliar with the area, credit cards are accepted, and while I didn't have to deal with parking due to my hotel being conveniently located across the street, it’s always a good idea to inquire about parking in advance. Given the restaurant's popularity, reservations are strongly recommended to secure a spot.
