Let me discuss practicalities prior to addressing the phenomenal expertise of the staff. The location cannot be beat. It is the doorstep that one needs in Miami to experience the pulse of Miami. From the airport forget the Uber. Don't rent a car. For $2.25 take the orange line at the airport to the government center and there within one minute you can transfer to the Miami mover which is free to the 10th Street promenade station. Exit and there is Citizen M Brickell. This is the equivalent of times square. The nightlife thrives around this hotel in the Brickell area. This does not mean clubbing and partying into all hours of the night. There is a range of exquisite restaurants as well as simple fare. From The Henry to Burger King to a mom and pop restaurant for a slice of pizza to a deli one block to the left of the hotel, also the incredible Moxie restaurant, and phenomenal Italian cuisine at North Italia. The rooftop swimming pool is the best in the city because it is on the 20th floor and situated in such a way that you will have sun morning noon and into early evening. You will see all the other hotels in the area have a lot of shade during the day because of skyscrapers blocking them. Admittedly the gym is very limited but if you are creative with weights you can get in an adequate workout. The view from my room as well as the rooftop is worth coming back for, simply translated this means upon my return to the great state of Florida there is no other option I would ever consider. I can confidently tell you that the direction of the hotel under the leadership of the formidable Jade is to be noted as supreme in offering a sense of welcome. Three days later she still remembered my name. Nick is creative with beverage concoctions as he exudes a confident enthusiasm. Then there is Melody who provided me with the gift of laughter and joy, she does not know this but I am not well due to brain cancer. She is the little angel that God sent into my life at the right time. I was having a hard day the moment I met her. Without her knowing she changed that. I congratulate you all on your continued successes and achievements while serving the hospitality industry a new barometer by which all others are to...
Read moreThis hotel checked a lot of boxes off for me, but I can't ignore that poor customer service from who they refer to as the "Ambassador's"... otherwise known as hotel staff. I flew in from Canada and got yelled at from the get-go by the front desk lady. I was simply doing my check in as instructed on the App. She doesn't need to yell at me, stating that out of all the CitizenM hotels, this is the ONLY one that doesn't do self check in. She could simply tell me this fact nicely in a polite manner. Way to put a bad vibe on the beginning of my birthday trip, young lady - shame on you. Perhaps you should find a new line of work, because working with people does not seem to be your forte. At the end of the rude interaction, when I had my key, I tested her to see if she would politely answer a question of mine. She wanted nothing with proper customer service - wrong person in the wrong position (I checked in around 6pm on Sep 6th). Thankfully the check out process was fully automated. I am one of those people looking forward to AI taking over human occupations - lol, at least AI would be polite.||The food in the breakfast buffet was on point - once again though, the staff... meh. Mixed reviews. Some polite, some not, but the food was definitely fantastic. I have high praise for the breakfast offerings. ||The rooms, though small, do the intended job - a clean, trendy place to sleep during my adventures in the city. My trip was just an exploratory mission of Miami, so this hotel served its' purpose, fairly upscale looking, great food, great location. The cleaning staff are definitely doing a great job here. - Muchas Gracias por ustedes.||I travel quite frequently, but won't staying at this chain of hotel anymore after this experience, nor will I recommend this hotel to friends in family. I shouldn't be so surprised with my maltreatment, as I was trying to be budget conscience with my hotel choice, that old saying "you get what you pay for" seems to ring true from time to time. I'll pay more for a hotel of higher class, the next time I...
Read moreMy wife and I had a great stay from April 2nd to April 5th. We really enjoyed the hotel ( modern , clean, helpful staff and we enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar). Its proximity to the waterfront park, shops, restaurants, boat tours available there was also great! The reason I am writing this so long after the stay is we have just arrived home. The problem arose at check out! I had gone down at 8 am to arrange for a taxi to Fort Lauderdale Cruise Ship Terminal and the girl in the reception area said to come back 15 minutes prior to wanting the taxi. I went down at 9:45 and she called what I thought was a taxi. I asked where the taxi pick up was and she said to wait in the lobby and she would bring the driver to us. When the driver arrived and walked us out to the vehicle it turned out to be a private car. Not a taxi or Uber. We were uncertain what to do, but had to get to the cruise ship terminal, so we took the ride. On the way, I asked the driver what the cost of the fare was and he was evasive and said he hadn’t been there before, but it would take about 40 minutes. He was also on his phone checking the route to the terminal, which was a little unnerving. I had previously checked the price a taxi and it averaged $90. When we arrived at the terminal we had to pass through a security gate and the security officer asked who the passengers were and the driver said we were his parents. The security officer wanted to see our passports and wasn’t buying the fact that we were his parents. We were detained there for about 10 tense minutes while the officer went into a security booth. He finally came out and asked whether we were paying for the trip. I said no, so he let us through. It’s was very stressful thinking we might be detained and miss our ship. When it came time to pay, he wanted $120, I should have argued the price, but was relieved to get there, so paid him the $120. The reason I’m writing this is, I would hate to see someone in a similar situation and the staff should be told about this incident.
Sincerely, Larry &...
