Horrible experience..they upsell you without giving you the options to choose from…the person who sat me did the upselling. The server later asked the same question and gave me my options…by this time it wasn’t worth stressing over. As the food came out the server came up said she was clocking out and could I cash and tip out now..I agreed…then she brings the machine over and the standard tip suggestions pop up..at no point was I informed the tip was already on the check..so I double tipped..it was incredibly hot…I drank all of the water I brought with me and I needed more I kept trying to get someone’s attention to no avail but the staff were chatting with each other…I waited for an hour trying to get someone’s attention…I was so hot and dehydrated I couldn’t drink the tequila or continue eating without water…after 90 minutes I gave up…I carried everything into the restaurant..the person did not understand me and I inverted my 60oz water bottle to demonstrate my point…both the server and manager were mad at me because an extremely small amount of water came out after the ice melted. And they were not happy..and started yelling at me….so to further demonstrate my situation so that we all understood this is a problem… I poured the Don Julio on the bar…ate less than 1/4 of my burrito …and left that on the bar…I never in my wildest dreams thought since I was asked to pay and tip out when the food arrived…not a single soul came to check up with me over the next 90 minutes. I did not request to pay out..I should have said no….then it also donned on me that they had already included the tip and did not inform me. Most reputable restaurants remind you or the machine will suggest To add a few dollars if the service was amazing…so not only was I tricked into double tip…but I paid 22% tip on the total check…and since the tip was already in the check total..I PAID A TIP ON A TIP….its 100F out make sure the tourists get check ins and always be offering water in this heat..I live here..after today I prefer driving Brickell to Homestead for Mexican food….if you force a customer to pay/tip out as the food is just arriving…you can’t just ignore the customer simply because the restaurant requested I pay out and close the check…I paid $90 for a burrito and tequila…I was so dehydrated that I couldn’t eat without water..and certainly couldn’t drink the tequila without water in this heat..I brought my 60oz bottle of water…I drank the entire contents quickly…every time I looked around the girls were all chatting among themselves…walk past my table multiple times without making eye contact or ask me if I needed anything…the blatant upselling and not providing the other options is horrible, you don’t let people sit in this heat without constantly checking up on water..I live here, I am used to the heat and I always carry 60oz of ice water…the tourists don’t know how much water to carry with them…and they are not used to the heat..you must do better….stop the upselling, don’t allow servers to request pay/tip out if no one is going to take over the table ,stop with the unethical deceptive double tip scam, keep your customers hydrated
The restaurant industry struggles this time of year hence Miami Spice trying to get locals to the restaurants..you have a captive clientele of mostly comprised of tourists. If you did these unethical tipping practices, ignore my table for 90 minutes ..to me ..I have lived here 30 years..I can’t imagine how you are treating the tourists.DO BETTER…DO NOT TREAT TOURISTS LIKE THIS….stop the upselling and not even mentioning the options…$90 for a burrito and tequila…I would say they added 18% or more to the check and tricked me into tipping another 22%..I tipped 22% on an already paid 18%…the tip received a tip…keep the socializing amongst the staff to a minimum and take care of the customer…keep them hydrated in this extreme heat….i was excited to see the first Mexican restaurant in bayside since 1995….this goes down as the absolute worst restaurant...
Read moreI cant give yal a 1 because yal tried to give good customer service and thats one thing that really matters. We got our drink and it was missing the popsicle advertised in the picture. This location took off $3 and it was ok but the location they colocate with didnt bring the order and we were ready to leave so we just got the check. The nachos werent that great and didnt look like the photos that were advertised and the steak wasnt really hot. Since I had to leave hungry because I didnt get my order from the restaurant colocated with yal I cant give yal 3 stars. If it was like a %50 discount on this drink for serving not as advertised and not bringing my food I might would have given 3 stars for going above and beyond. But that discount that wasnt received can be your tip. So I said all that to say 2 stars but strive to do better please go above and beyond. This review was for both me and your customers. I was skeptical about the 4.7 stars but I dont currently see this as a 4.7 star restaurant. You only give 2 tacos when you should have a minimum of 3 tacos if you charge $20+. Taco stand (wynnwood) is one of the best taco restaurants in miami and they dont even charge that much. The 18% service charge is absurd as well because yal are not giving 18% service. Taco stand gives 18% service charge service and they dont charge an 18% service charge. Yal need to revise alot. At least make sure the food matches...
Read moreI felt robbed at this restaurant — I do not recommend it. The manager is a very inflexible person; the drinks are not good at all. I paid for two lemonades the same price as two margaritas "are you kidding me? " — $30 for one lemonade, and I paid for two. Out of frustration caused by the manager’s lack of attention, I left the place without even drinking the lemonades. They didn’t offer any adjustment or exchange; they only seemed interested in feeling like they had “won” by taking more money from a customer for a cheap lemonade. I do not recommend this place. I am a business owner — money is not a problem for me — but the lack of attention when you’re paying for something feels like an insult. I truly regret having to do this, but these are things other customers shouldn’t have to deal with, especially if they feel taken advantage of. I congratulate “Lupita Restaurant” for finding a way to make more money by deceiving...
