Stayed here with my kids the night before a cruise. I'll start with the Cons because it was my first impression of the hotel and my lasting impressions and the reasons I would not and have not returned.
Cons: We arrived around 11 am, and we were told we needed to wait for our room which was not ready yet. We were told to come back around 4 pm. That's a lot of time to kill. I was not prepared for the fact that we would need to leave our bags anywhere or with anyone other than in our hotel room, so I had to decide which ones I felt I was taking with me that didn't have a lock. The guy who took our bags was very impatient and not friendly at all. He looked really mean and I didn't feel comfortable with handing him our things. My first impression of him was he took one look at us and decided he didn't like us. I think he hated me. Rarely ever do I ever feel that way from anyone. So this was not an experience I am ever looking to repeat again.
Breakfast is not free as some reviews have stated. Apparently breakfast cost $25 per person, but we were told by the ladies at the front desk that in exchange for good feedback on google we would be given 4 vouchers for breakfast the next day. Breakfast has everything, American and Continental, but there's not much seating. It's not set up for families or like a breakfast buffet you would get at a chain restaurant. I felt a little weird going back for seconds because the food servers are keeping an eye on things. I didn't go back for seconds. I feel like we were out of place and the other people around us were mostly travelling business people. An entire flight crew, hostesses and pilot came in also, and it was nice seeing them all formal in their airline uniforms. Also I'm not aware of where you can get breakfast outside in the area. We looked and we didn't find anywhere - not even to grab a muffin or bagel.
The rooms are not clean at all. They should get rid of the carpeting. i think its one of the more filthier places I've ever stayed. The window blinds and drapes are dusty. You will most likely not be ok in here if you have dust allergies.
Extremely long wait for the elevators. I've never seen anything like that. We waited anywere from 10 - 15 mins for the elevator no matter what time of day it was.
Pros: Across from Bayside Marketplace
CVS is across the street - we loaded up on water and essentials
Great view facing Biscayne Blvd - I loved seeing the cruise ships pull in around 5 am in the morning and just people watching going up and down the blvd.
10 min Uber ride to the cruise port, so this is an absolute bonus
Ate dinner at a good Peruvian restaurant a few blocks away The ladies at the front desk were super helpful in providing suggestions for restaurants.
Overall: Will not return. I rather pay the additional $100 in my hotel charge and have the included breakfast buffet that is offered by chain hotels, where there are other families and you can go back for seconds and eat as much as you want. Since our visit, we have stayed elsewhere and preferred...
Read moreNOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE. BIG NO. The lobby is enticing and the word "Gorgeous" might be tempting for how the atmosphere invites you in. I was excited for my stay because the lobby had So. Much. Promise. BUT, things went from bad to worse to police involvement in under 24 hours. So let's take a journey. When you arrive, you're greeted by a well-lit, ambient, vibrant lobby with artistic touches, welcoming staff, and a security guard that takes the edge off. Then you'll wait approximately 30 to 40 minutes for an elevator to your room that is both tiny and slower than molasses. Then you'll find your room is small, with a leaking air conditioner and, if you're lucky, random pills will be scattered on your dirty carpet like we found. I went to the lobby and requested a different room where the desk attendant told me "no problem just pay for the upgrade!" Uh...no thanks? There's pills on my floor? And coolant in my hair that I surely did not use as a conditioner this morning. So we were switched to a similar room on the same floor. It was also terrible but a little bit less so. It was sleep able. But it was giving...tetanus. The hotel was within walking distance of the Bayside market (across the street sporting plenty of shopping and dining options and a lovely park...HIGHLY recommend the market) so we spent most of the evening there. When we returned, we redeemed our free drinks at the bar (they hand them out at check in like an apology) which was enjoyable. And the night was largely uneventful. I stepped out to check us out of our room before waiting another 30 to 40 minutes for the teensy tiny elevators to get our bags down. My sister waited upstairs with our bags at the elevator. A gentleman donning an apron approached her at the upstairs elevator bay impersonating a staff member (I believe he told her he was a chef there). He showered her with compliments then began to insist she leave with him. He even insited on her number and told her to get out her phone so he could watch her phone ring and watch her answer him. She declined. He then began asking probing questions about her stay, where she was traveling from, and again if he could verify her phone number by watching her interact with her phone. He also asked her what time she was back so he could "wait for her" and repeatedly insisted she leave with him. And I'm hearing all of this happen from the lobby. My choices are to run up 10 flights of stairs, wait for the slowest elevator on the planet or find the now jarringly absent security guard. She did eventually make it to the lobby in less time than it would have taken me to do any of the above which I am thankful for. The manager was a lovely woman who insisted she would check security cameras and involve police as needed. AND SHE KEPT HER PROMISE. She was easily the only redeeming quality about this place. And she found and apprehended the stalker. Bless her. Aside from that, they offer a driving service to and from the Miami cruise port for about twice the price of a Lyft. Messy. Messy. Avoid...
Read moreRead moreI was extremely disappointed in the conditions at Yve Hotel, Miami. This was to be a 2 night stay with Saturday being the day of a wedding I was attending. After the first night, it was so uncomfortable, I decided to check out and look for another hotel which was extremely stressful and expensive.|I made complaints to the front desk and manager on duty and finally was told to write a written complaint which would be sent up to the corporate office. |The room was unsatisfactory in terms of cleanliness and overall accommodations. Only some conditions were addressed after my complaints. In addition to the list below, I sent pictures and video of a bug crawling on my pillow on Saturday morning.| 1. The carpet was visibly dirty| 2. The remote control was filthy. I cleaned it with Lysol spray before touching it.| 3. The TV and lamps was visibly dusty and there was no TV signal| 4. The iron was cracked and extremely dirty on the bottom and not usable.|After I contacted the front desk, House keeping was sent up and vacuumed my carpet, dusted and replace the iron with a less dirty bottom....while I was trying to get dressed for the pre-wedding event!| I was told that I would be contacted when the cable signal returned/ it never did| 5. The AC shut off at 67degrees - however, the room was never cool and it was warm and musty all through the night. | I was told an engineer would come up and no one came. |Upon returning back to the hotel after my event, I realized the following: | 6. No coffee pot for water- requested it and was told someone would bring it and I waiting for over half hr. Finally I went down to the front desk to use the microwave to heat water for tea.| 7. The room safe did not work when I tried setting it - so I didn’t have access to it and the closet only had 1 hanger. Didn’t bother to complain about those things although it was a great inconvenience .| 8. WORST OF ALL WAS THE BUG I SAW CRAWING ON MY PILLOW THAT MORNING WHEN I WOKE UP. |At that point, I immediately packed my bags to check out. I spoke to the manager on duty and requested a credit for the second night of which she agreed. I informed her that I wanted a credit for the 2 nights because the first night was so terrible. |She informed me to write her an email with my request and complaints, which she would send to the general manager. Three days after, I received the written response with an offer in the amount of $24.86 which was for the "amenity fee". |I believe I should get the balance of 160.00 which would cover the first night. |By the way... there was another guest at the front desk complaining about the AC no...
