Went here last night and had the dumbest experience with the doorman and the d.j. Some coworkers and I had gotten off work (industry workers as well) and decided to meet up at the corner. I get there and Me! tryna do the right thing asked the doorman who could I talk to to make an executive decision on letting me in being as that I’m 38 but I did not have my i.d… He sternly said he could not do it in which i respected.
My coworkers showed up not long after, we shook hands, I informed them that a couple Of us were inside already grabbing drinks and checking it out. They proceeded to the door and just like that with no hassle at all they were let right in!!!
Shocked i immediately ask the doorman what was up with that and the D.J immediately came to his aid saying he witnessed him card them.!!!
BOLD FACE LIED TO MY FACE !!!!! as I stood my ground to telling him how much of a liar he was!! He persisted with his story until I informed him that they were my coworkers whom just walked up to me me there so how!?How in the world did you see him card them?!!!! Lies! All the while the doorman just sat there in silence with the dumbest look on his face and zero accountability.
The fact that you “can’t get inside without an I.d “ but buy drinks at the window without one is totally freaking bunkers but non the less this is how this establishment is operating. Been here before and never quite grasp the gravity of that but last night was obviously a different experience.
To the owner , Fix it! Or you guys will get into major trouble. Business have been shut down for things like this. Now I won’t be back anytime soon, maybe never but in the slight chance I do. I’d expect to see different doormen(thats plural because they all do it I’m sure) and D.j as well. Who should’ve been spinning records instead of baring...
Read moreThe Corner is somewhat a hole in the wall but it's much more than that. The bartenders will make you any craft cocktail you desire and they also offer bar bites and sandwiches. One of the best times to come to here is during happy hour. Select spirits are only $5 and craft beers are only $3 to $4.
We decided to meet up here before the flamenco show at Arsht Center. I got a dry martini and rum and coke. They were actually good and not watered down. Again, they were only $5 so can't complain. While my hubby and I waited for the rest of the group, we ordered some apps. Skip the Chips w/ Homemade Cheese Dip but the Deviled Eggs were decent. The apps were just $5 each too. Next, we ordered a couple of sandwiches. We got the Roast Beef w/ Cheddar and Get My Goat (Goat Cheese, Basil, Roasted Pear and Tomatoes). The Roast Beef was just ok. It was too much bread, not enough meat and kinda bland. However, the Goat Cheese sandwich was mighty tasty. The sandwiches were less than $10 each and came with chips. Decent size too which can be split in half for sharing.
The Corner is not big or fancy but it's a reliable bar w/ decent food in downtown Miami. It's also open til 5am in morning so a lot of patrons from the nightclubs next door hangout here in...
Read moreI've gone here countless times. Mostly because I live nearby so it's convenient. I was there the other night & proceeded to have a few drinks. The evening took an odd turn when the bartender Nicole(small girl with a sleeve) decided I needed water to which I drank. She gave me another to which I didn't want. Then I notice a discrepancy with my tab & while I was replaying the evening in my head to make sense of it, I was told I've had enough and was asked to leave. Wow.
So let me get this straight: you have a repeat customer that's calmly trying to figure out something & your idea is to throw him out Nicole? Now to her credit, she seemed like she wanted to explain how I'm wrong THEN throw me out..which I suppose is...helpful?
Bottom line is whether the discrepancy was my oversight or a mistake on their part, I'll never know BUT what I do know is Nicole's handling of this was quite frankly pathetic & I'll NEVER allow her to serve me again. I don't trust her & I find her conduct to be condescending when you inquire about something.
Corner is cool....
