It’s funny because I was about to leave a review about how the staff here consistently monitors and harasses you but then I noticed another tenant had left a similar review. I would like to echo the concerns that the staff here monitors you at all times. Most recently, I allowed my boyfriend to use my fob to run upstairs to grab something I forgot WHILE I WAITED DOWNSTAIRS for him. During the whole two minutes that he went upstairs, they went ahead and deactivated my fob “ for improper use” with not as much as a warning. We were in a rush to leave for Father’s Day brunch, and we only found out upon our return when we were locked in the garage. The staff here knows both of us and could have simply provided a courtesy to either call me and they would have discovered me literally standing a few feet away from them or let him know to check in. Considering that he is on my guest list, they would have immediately sent him up without even contacting me so to take it to the lengths of deactivating my fob, and now I have to take time out of my day to make it to Management in between a full-time schedule is absolutely ludicrous.
This building may look nice but it is far from it. Most of the tenants are drug dealers and the elevator reeks of marijuana. I would expect management and security to be more concerned about the instances of domestic violence that constantly occur (I’ve reported multiple times women yelling for help which echoes through the thin walls). But no, instead they’re more concerned with my boyfriend going up to my unit for a minute with MY PERMISSION. Not to mention he’s on the list and an application to add him to the lease is pending.
It’s quite ridiculous being treated like a criminal and requiring a security escort to and from your car and being unable to use any of the amenities until the management office opens because your fob is deactivated for the most minor reason. It’s luxury at its lowest. For the amount we pay here, can easily move to a nicer building where you’re not treated like a delinquent.
REVIEW UPDATE: Front desk staff here has zero common sense or courtesy. Abysmal is an understatement to describe their level of customer service. I asked to borrow a cart to use to bring up some heavy items from the car to the elevator. You need to leave your ID with front desk in order to check out the cart. I forgot my ID upstairs but my BF offered to leave his. He has been added to my lease as an additional occupant by the owner of my unit. The management office was closed yesterday in observance of Juneteenth so while all of the paperwork has been submitted, it has yet to be reflected in the system. “Because he’s not a resident” is the reason we were given for not being able to check out a cart… this level of pettiness is mind blowing. Do yourself a favor and waste your...
Read moreI lived at Paramount for approximately 18 months. While the general staff was courteous and professional, the management team are NOT - management is HORRIBLE - demonstrated dishonesty and unethical behavior, again and again.
Someone tried to break into my apartment, they literally broke the lock off my door - and when reported to building security and upper management, they wouldn't make a police report because "it would make the building look bad". Despite this serious security breach, management discouraged me from filing a police report, citing concerns about the building’s reputation. This conduct raised major significant concerns regarding their commitment to resident safety and transparency. They actually don't care. The reason that someone was even able to access that floor is because they unlocked the service elevators so anyone can access your floor. You're not as safe as you think.
While the amenities are impressive, the management's practices are intrusive and inappropriate. For example, a staff member took unauthorized photographs of me in a bikini and distributed the images via email to other staff members, alleging a violation related to my small Yorkie being in the garden. Rather than issuing a formal warning, management required me to either attend a “grievance court” or pay a fine. This incident raises serious concerns regarding privacy violations and the misuse of authority by management. MANY people have had the same experience.
Furthermore, management’s handling of my security deposit has been unacceptable. I vacated the property nearly two months ago, yet they continue to withhold my deposit under the pretense of an "internal delay." This delay exceeds the legal timeframe for returning a deposit, as prescribed by state law. For reference, my other deposit was promptly returned by the real estate company upon vacating from paramount, leaving the building with no justifiable excuse for their failure to comply with legal obligations.
The elevators are slow, constantly smell like weed and I was also trapped in the elevator. I would NOT RECOMEND moving here. Many of these ratings are inflamed by real estate agents. Management’s unprofessional conduct, lack of respect for resident privacy, and failure to fulfill legal obligations are unacceptable. I strongly advise you ti exercise caution if you're thinking about moving or...
Read moreLived here 4 years. First 2 years rented then decided to buy. I love this building..all of it…the property, the amenities, the management/Board (who have made some much needed improvements), the community! Most of people in this building are great and I’ve built some dear and long lasting friendships here. The location has been built up tremendously since I’ve been here and it’s only getting better. I’ve read through some of these reviews and have found (IMO) that many of these folks just want a free for all. Sounds like they’re only concerned about themselves and not the logical and legal processes that luxury buildings need to follow. They want security but only when it is convenient for them and to protect them. But as soon as security questions their friend of family, now security is the bad guy!? Can’t have it both ways. If I have friends or family over, I follow and respect the rules because I’m not the only one living here! This isn’t MY house. Some folks complain about and want more secure parking then want to let their friends park inside whenever they want?? I guess the rules don’t apply to them? They don’t want others to be able to get it, just their friend? They don’t want their packages stolen and want it to be safe but yet complain when package room asks for ID?!!? Seems many folks are not realizing that this is a building, like all of the other buildings, you can’t have everything the way you want it all of the time. If that’s the case, then maybe live in the suburbs, in a single family home. This way, you provide the security when you want and how you want, anyone can pick up your mail and deliveries for you..you control the smells you like and don’t like, you can dirty and disrespect your own furniture however you like, you can give out as many keys or key fobs as you like, your friends can roam around your house whenever and wherever they like, you can have your pool filled with whatever you want to fill it with, AND, I absolutely love animals but in your own place you can let them pee whenever they want to. Here, animals aren’t allowed to pee in the lobby, (as it should be)
Buildings come with rules, they all do. I say if you don’t like it, there are plenty of single family homes that are absolutely gorgeous to go live in..
I love everything about...
