First & last time visiting Miam Cafe for more than one valid reason. If you’re interested in eating here I will advise that there is no hostess in charge of seating & accommodations. You must find a seat yourself which during busy hours can be a bit of a hassle. Also note that there is no table service, you must order at the counter & your food will be taken to you. If you while you’re dining you want something extra, you must get up to go to the counter & order each time.
Our food took over 45 minutes to come out & they brought out each plate on by one leaving our party with one eating without the other.
WHEN WAITING FOR OUR FOOD WE NOTICED A ROACH CLIMBING UP THE WALL ADJACENT TO OUR TABLE.
I immediately let the staff know and with the napkin she cleaned another table with she killed the roach with her hand & proceeded to say “This is unforgivable” and walked away. Never did she attempt to reseat us at another table or attempt to kill the roach residue left on the wall which was absolutely disgusting. She simply left
We ordered the steak & eggs breakfast with the steak med/well & received well done. The steak was chewy & flavorless. I will say the chimichurri sauce made up for it just a bit, I would rate that plate 6.5/10. We also order the Miam pancakes which were a bit too hard for my liking. Note that the pancakes are made in molds and pretty much filled to the top. That’s pretty much all there is to these “fluffy pancakes” & an eye catching presentation
I will say this place is cute but that’s all that there is behind it. I expected a better experience than I did considering that it is a little pricey. I ordered an apple juice and a lemonade which was $12. We also ordered steak & eggs, Miam pancakes, & eggs & potatoes (can’t remember the name of the plate) that came up to $89. Parking across the street was $20. Overall expense was about $120. Not worth it & honestly a waste of money. Management must consider a hostess & investing in pest control seriously. A Miami local here honestly rates...
Read moresay what’s good, not so good and what’s bad. Summary: below average
What’s Good Pancakes, great presentation, fluffy, not too “cakey”. A bit more crumbly than I’d like but solid and would recommend you get this. The scrambled eggs were solid, did what it was supposed to do.
What’s not so good the steak was underwhelming, no seasoning, didn’t even seem like salt was added. The food wasn’t served hot, it was a bit above room temperature and there weren’t many people there.
What’s bad chai latte, tasted like a syrup, couldn’t continue after 4 sips Customization, I wanted pancake and eggs on the side but I was told that I couldn’t get eggs on the side and I had to get the platter (which included bacon and potato). I didn’t want the extra stuff but was told I can only get extra eggs if I got the platter. I finally agreed to the platter but asked if I could swap the potato with salad (I already have pancakes as a carb, why add potatoes). Not a great experience to be forced into a platter with things you don’t want and not given the option to swap with ingredients they already have. Additionally, the fact that you can add eggs if you did get a platter proves that adding eggs on the side is acceptable (and very normal at breakfast spots). This alone was a big turn off because it removed the joy from the experience when you’re forced to get things you don’t want just because you’re aiming for a balance breakfast by trying to add protein. For this reason I won’t return but if you’re a pancake fan, the pancakes are definitely presented nicely, and probably is carrying this restaurant.
It was our first visit and expected a great experience because of the reviews but we were severely let down. Also it’s above average pricing with underwhelming customer service. I really hope the manager seriously finds a way to improve the customers’ experience so that they can thrive because...
Read moreAs a huge fan of the MIAM Cafe in Wynwood, I was really looking forward to the Biscayne location, especially since I live right on top of it. However, this location is the opposite on the Wynwood location. From the beginning, the staff moves extremely slow, I was 2nd in line to order and took me 20 minutes just to order. We ordered the following from Lisandra at the register and had to rectify it because she seemed overwhelmed and confused. 2 lattes, 2 omelettes with cheese, turkey and tomatoes, 2 side orders of avacoado and no butter on the bread. Fast forward a good 10 minutes and the lattes arrived warm and bitter. Another few minutes later the funner brings us our omelettes; bread with butter and 1 side order of avocado. We tell him and have to show him our receipt that says no butter and 2 avocados before taking our plates away. Another few minutes later Leidy comes to our table with her paper receipts, asking if we speak Spanish to try and tell us in a condescending tone that we did not pay for 2 side orders of avocado and did not request for them to not put butter on the toasts. I had to show her my receipt that does in fact support our narrative and she snatched her paper receipts from the table and walked away. At this point, we asked for a refund (which took them forever to figure out how to process it) and while this was happening, Leidy was schooling Lisandra on how she needs to also run to the cooks to make sure they understand what is printed on their ticket to ensure these circumstances don’t occur again. If you must visit a MIAM Cafe location, skip Biscayne and visit the Wynwood location, you...
